I've watched it many times over the years. I thought it was more like: American is dangerous. Because of Free Speech. And yet, and at the same time, that's what makes America inventive (the dance).
That with the danger comes inventiveness. And with the inventiveness comes danger.
I think the "Hidden Meanings" above focusses way too much on the racial issues. Which is a thing today. Everything has to have a race take.
