I’ve been really impressed with Riley Green lately. He’s a Nashville guy but writes most of his own stuff including this song which was a solo write. Has a good blend of modern and traditional production. I really enjoyed his newer song Don’t Mind If I Do which is a duet with Ella Langley

Idk if this is true with the song but how I interpreted the part “I finished school, my country shipped me off to war
When I came home, my whole world didn't love me anymore” it seems like the Vietnam war where he was drafted and when he came home got a lot of backlash from all the politics surrounding the war
