My unpopular opinion is: selena gomez’s fans are delusional to think that she is in the same league as Taylor or even Ariana Grande, at least in terms of music stardom.

The instance of the misunderstood genius: a person who makes good music but flops, is much rarer than we think. We love to call stuff underrated but sometimes those are just bad songs/albums or artists.

The main pop girls of the 2010s are: Taylor, Beyonce, Rihanna, Adele, Katy, Gaga, Ariana and Nicki, any other name might have had a moment at the top but no consistency.

Dua Lipa is risking becoming the new Katy Perry if she doesn’t start working on building a strong fanbase

My unpopular opinion (as someone who has been very invested in fandoms) is that they can tend to flatten appreciation for music. There's an idea that you need to listen to, support and love every single new release from an artist, and it can make it so that instead of finding music you connect to, you start from the song and try to reverse-engineer something.
I think appreciation of fandom, group connection and aesthetic are amazing things on their own, but when this takes the place of music appreciation instead of standing alongside it, I just think it robs people of something. I think it's worth asking if we'd still listen to this song if it wasn't from our fave. I love Taylor, and a lot of her albums (red, speak now, 1989, folklore/evermore, lover) are ones I really connect with. But it's stupid to pressure people to settle for music they don't really care about.

i love walls so much more than fitf. i actually just saw louis in atlanta and i loved it but i know i would have loved it more if there were more walls songs. at least dont let it break your heart.. fitf is great just not as much my taste

Just went to the Louis Concert in Seattle and I was in the back on the floor and it was literally so fun AND we had a good view anyway (Louis is gorgeous irl btw) so no barricade needed to have loads of fun 💙💙💙

Walls is far better than FITF I'm sorry. There were like 3-4 good songs on FITF and they all sounded the same (not including out of my system) Walls is pure fire and no one can change my mind.

my extremely unpopular swiftie opinion: Fearless is one of her best albums. It’s personally my favorite but so many people hate on it for absolutely no reason. The lyrics, the music, the nostalgia. 10/10 album and I will always love Fearless.

I do think that Olivia is very overrated but she has incredible marketing so it makes sense why she is so hyped up. I agree with the niall take. KENDRICK SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE NOM? No. The Harry Styles take? Don't do him dirty like that.

I don't think the Sabrina take is right at all. I honestly think it's unique especially the live aspect that she takes to change up the verse (?) for every show

I agree with the camping take because it's just insane that people camp for so long and then end up probably not getting a good spot in the end. I also agree with the barricade take because good lord being in pit is EXHAUSTING. I almost fainted in my first pit so :)
