How do you do it on a msi motherboard
Your video told me exactly what I needed.
1) Here I was thinking I could RAID one drive just to test and see if it would delete data, before RAIDing them both, not knowing that I would HAVE to RAID both at the same time, and if I had done that, there would have gone my LIFE on P.C. since 2000.
2) I bought an 8tb backup drive, will backup to that, then RAID both my internal 8TB drives, and use the external backup as just that. Thanks to the video uploader and the commenters who informed me that RAID ISN'T a substitute for backup, which I didn't know until just now, and I now agree now that I did some reading an learned about why regarding file destruction and viruses.
I believe you should also install the Intel RST utility, and perform RAID initialization (non-destructive) from there.
What option determines whether or not Windows is also mirrored?
For RAID1, never use two drives from the same LOT! Preferably, never use drives from the same manufacturer.
4:50 are you not able to select the drive? i have 3 drives and one of them is an OS drive. I do not want all of them to be changed to RAID 1
Remember that RAID 1 is vulnerable to data corruption from one drive being replicated across the entire array. RAID 1 is a fail-over strategy to improve reliability, not a backup strategy.
Format old hard disk storage…????
Help it doesn’t boot into the raid screen with ctrl I
How can I make the Intel Rapid Storage option available on my BIOS settings?
