Defunct Games reviews Ys: Memories of Celceta by Falcom and XSEED Games, available now on PlayStation .
As an Ys game, Memories of Celceta has almost everything I love about the series. While it’s not my favorite entry in the long-running franchise, it’s hard not to fall for its charm and swift pacing. This is an adventure filled with likable characters and a large connected world that is fun to explore. Sure, some of its elements feel a bit dated now and it’s obvious that this started out as a handheld game, but there’s no doubt that Memories of Celceta remains an engaging adventure game no matter what system it’s on.

I bought this game last year and loved every minute of it. This was my first Y's game and I can't believe I've been sleeping on this series for so long. Falcom is super under rated. The first game I bought from Falcom was Tokyo xandua ex+ back in late 2017 and that put them on the map for me, now I've been trying to catch up on all their games that are on PS4.
What IS your favorite Y's game in the series? I haven't played any of them and I've heard both good and bad about the series. If I'm to give one game a shot, which one should it be?
Like the jrpg buy all the Ys game's you can….. like action jrpg's buy the Ys games you will adore each one. Graphic whor3's REALLY look at game play for the Ys game you want to pick up you MAY not be ok with the graphics. Was fun to get your thoughts on this. Excited we get a new Ys next month in Feb
I'm not really into RPGs, but I want to give the Ys series a shot.
This was the game that I was waiting for so I didn't have to buy a Vita.
I agree with Crisis Core. Take of those damm rng mechanics and let me skip the cutscenes before bosses and it's done. Also Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Uncharted Golden Abyss and Mario 3D Land.
I loved the game on Vita but i was beyond disappointed when i plopped down $30 and found out the PS4 version shares the trophy list of Vita. Meaning i already had a platinum.
Its a minor thing to some but as a trophy hunter i wish they added new trophies to earn, considering how long it took them to finally port it to PS4. 🙁
Running around in circles, that did make me laugh. Oh, how it that AI group members seems to have gone down since the days of Swat 4? 🤔🤷 As for the question, since most portable games, I've only really experiences on emulators, not sure if I could say the same kind of frustration, so I'll say your answers sound good. 😉
Dissidia games pls
Celceta is my first and so far favorite Ys game. Also the music is most excellent.
Qotd: Soul Sacrifice Delta(vita) needs to be ported to the ps4.
I like Falcom's games, will pick up this in the future.Yeah I also liked pursuit force games.
I would like Jeanne d'Arc jrpg by levels 5(psp),or Golden Sun (GBA). I think it will hold well on big screen.
Good upload dude! Stay true to the grind & you'll get big on YouTube quickly 🙏
I still have my vita copy and haven't played though it yet. Need to get on that since these games are great. So far I can't think of a game in the series that is outright bad and none have a bad soundtrack.
QOTD, you hit the nail on the head with Crisis core. I know the FF7 remake had a lot of nods to it but it should get a reimaging too. Maybe one of the episodes will have playable flashbacks to Zacks time. A lot of other games come to mind: Dark Arms on the Neo pocket, the 7th dragon series, the metal gear PSP games, the GBA and DS castlevania games.
At the most I got monster hunter on a console.
