I weren’t able to connect properly with the protagonist unfortunately. Reminded me to much of that irritating “pick ya bax” host from that shitty smiths gameshow. Would do well with new talent in that department for the sequel. Good enough game, little baggy controls 7,5 to max 8 from my pov

Seems the same as regular tokyo 2020 but without character customization and replaces Tennis and basketball with karate and fencing.

i still have fun returning to the game
best events - Ruby 7, Boxing, Table Tennis, Badminton, Skateboarding
good events but to short - 100m, Karate
worst events - Discuss Throw, Javalin

You know coming off of the last Mario and Sonic game i played that was made this one is at least a step in the right direction with the series. Personally i do like the story mode for what it is. I feel like most people are expecting the series to evolve but i honestly think that it doesn't need to do that. I see it as a good game, but it's got flaws that hold it back from being great. Aside from the whole multiplayer grovel there's the issue of certain characters being limited to specific events only which is what bugged me from the 2016 and 2018 games. I'd probably give it a 7/10 but that's just me.

I feel this review was a bit of a waste of your time. Everyone knows what you can expect from this type of game, so why would you go to the trouble of making a review? Especially during review season.

Love the EZA crew and Damiani but this review really wasn’t good. I’ve played the demo and seen a fair few new events - maybe tell us how they are? Maybe even say which ones are good or bad? Rugby looked like it got a bit of a shakeup, skateboarding and surfing is new etc

I know you guys might not be fans but would have liked to hear abit more. The review simply read like > Story mode cool but shallow > retro events a highlight > fun with friends (but again shallow) > online is bad

Want to hear more about the game itself. You only covered a portion of it.

I like the review, but I think the Easy Allies must be grading on a curve. The average game should earn a 5.0 right? (with half the games above a 5.0, and the other 50% of all games as below 5.0) That allows for a real distribution of scores, to actually use the full range of 1-10. instead they put like 98% of games above 5.0, and then 2% of games below 5.0.

So the 1964 games are better than the 2020 ones? That's disappointing. On the bright side by 2076 we'll get a good Mario & Sonic Olympics 2020!

No character in all of pop culture has been given as many chances at greatness and squandered them more than Sonic the Hedgehog. But Bethesda made one bad game and is on "thin ice" lol.

It seems like an oversight that this review never tells us what makes any of the individual mini-games good. Which ones stand out? What about the retro events specifically is appealing?

I like that the footage chosen by Don at the beginning includes Shadow, just to remind viewers of the Podcast bets. I'm going to really miss Or Wars this year.

I like it whenever I can tell the score a few seconds before revealing it at the end. Means the text was well written, and that's often the case with the Allies. Good job Damiani!
