What this dude fail to realize is that sports, ESPECIALLY football, generates tons of money for these colleges. I've watched the NAIA school literally grow, rapidly, before my eyes after they added a football team. Think about all the money that Bama, UGA, Ohio State, USC, etc football teams, alone, bring into their universities year in and year out

Something everyone is overlooking: most D1 athletic departments don’t make money. 93% lose. Most HBCUs are just concerned with being in the black each season.

Sinking millions into a stadium is a fool’s errand. The $80M in debt the university could spend on a new facility would be better spent on new academic programs or better academic and housing facilities.

Chasing football money when those programs don’t even add up to a net positive for PWIs is backwards thinking.

The SEC reported $729 Million in total revenue in 2020 and it distributed roughly $45.5 million to each of the 14 members. Off sports 😳😳
In 2021 the conference made $777.8 mill, each 14 members got $54 mill each. Just off sports.....😮

Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban signed contracts this year that average over 100 Million dollars! You can afford to pay them that much when they use all american black athletes to build powerhouse football programs. One which forced its player to bend the knee to racist donald trump and promised to quit if black players were given any money. even withheld a championship ring from one of his players because he had the nerve to transfer for a better chance to play. This video is just another example of white people using a black face to KEEP US IN OUR PLACE. This man is a disgrace to black people.

Jones's show is garbage it'll probably be off the air really soon because he has no Talent he doesn't have an engaging personality he's just he's not he's just not good at what he does he never was any good on ESPN I think he talked to music before that maybe he was good at that but his show won't last cuz he has no Talent

Where does the funding coming from at all those PWIs though? It's not billionaires, and the ones that do are sports fans. The Ivy Leagues have long money and old money

If you get the best black athletes at HBCU’s, you can not only generate money for the school but also the entire community! Other businesses and commercial builders will come to Jackson and build around that school. Deion is giving a blueprint for all HBCU’s to get those RESOURCES black people need by using FOOTBALL to get 80K in the seats! Deion said JSU generated 30 Million last year for the city of Jackson! It’s bigger than Football, but the irony is that’s exactly what we need to move the economic needle !!!

this guy is a clown, I would never send my kids to a PWI, the Buffalo shooting should be a reminder that black folks have no allies and should build with each other. Apart from endowments, football programs at D1 fund the rest of the athletic department. Even one starts somewhere. Harvard started with a handful of folks and several slaves. Being friendly and inviting has not worked for the community, time we start utilizing our best and brightest for ourselves.

I don't understand. He wants to point people in HBCU's to be engineers and such.... but he's a third generation HBCU graduate. Where's his PhD? This doesn't take into account the interest of the student.

Just a thought, being that high schools have taken trade skills out of high schools why wouldn't HBCU pick that up to encourage those trades along with business courses?

For 4-5 years, you get to be around people that looking like you and getting a feeling of belonging

He is right about us needing funding BUT the counter to that is that instead of helping Alabama make millions that money could go to us. And trust me they would come if JSU beat Ole Miss or MSU
