This bridge looks like if you built a yacht that could go into space. a space yacht, if you will

@hans1783 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

This is what I was thinking… So many yachts being made, are all these just like iPhones? Come in different shapes and names, but in the end it's just the interior design that makes the difference. While the core technology are just the 'same'.

@mattfavaloro350 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

When you asked about the redundancy he didn't really answer he just remarked that they have multiple computers for each display what if the computers aren't the problem why it's not working what about controlling the actual speed and direction of the vessel if all of a sudden that console that the captain sits in loses power?

@j.4941 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Nice. I like the wide overhead conning, that's a much better approach than to use a conventional 16:9. I didn't know there were approved widescreen moditors… or does conning not require approval?
Obviously the trend to not having full consoles but low-mounted large displays is VERY nice. Really great. Also the large planning station is great – the other workstations could do with a bit more power though.

@mtgrez October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Star Trek?

@zapfanzapfan October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

That really is next generation, even Picard would be jealous 🙂

@georgeburns7251 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Very interesting. I’d like a mechanical backup, but it is likely the engines are so computerized there could never be a means of controlling them like the engines of yesterday. Nice video. The system was designed for a very very large yacht,

@rayb3117 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

This technology is most definitely next generation and cutting edge. I cant wait to see where this ends up.

@SueEmmDee October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

What fantastic tech. Does it cost a lot? Are some boat owners real amateurs when it comes to navigation?

@davidmchugh2512 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I thought that this system or very similar systems had been around for a few years. What would be cool, a panel with access to manual basic engine controls (speed forward/reverse) to maintain some control in case hacking or system malfunction, superyacht GO in St.Maarten comes to mind.

@Calta455 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I, would you like to use this system over the standard layout covered over most bridges or is this the way forward.

@amorosogombe9650 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

A real beauty. Can you do an article on the maintenance, range and payload issues surrounding in-cabin showers?

@rtbinc2273 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Loved this. Really is SciFi stuff. It will also have SciFi problems. How secure will a connection between a tender and a mother ship be? If you are in or near a harbor could this be an entry for hackers? Also, will Super Yachts be used by Governments and NGOs for intelligence gathering? Could this be used for scientific research? Ask Super Yachts to gather basic temp and sea level data. Marine Life data. All sorts of potential, good and bad here.

@frankv4271 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Now that's what I'm talking about. Who doesn't like large monitors! Loved your Superyacht tech video.

@chrisw341 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

WE WE SAYS THE MAN FROM THE FRANCE 🇫🇷

@paullemire4973 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Why not "heads up" technology and do away with the the screens –

@TheAtma50 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

With all that information and demonstration the guy presenting never told us where to insert the tokens to make the magic happen !! LOL Stay Safe !!

@bobuncle8704 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I just love to see the growth of technology. Simply amazing.
That being said…here I am watching this on a 6” screen😂
I really wonder what Columbus would think of all this technology???

@nikodemus6315 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I was waiting for him to say integrated bridge system also known as IBS 🤣🤣

@761jared October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

It's always fascinating to see new technology; like toys for bigger boys

@lionelgower6877 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Very impressive, what type of OS do you think that is being used, i.e. is it a RISC architecture?

Loved it all.

@alanh4471 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Nice SW tech. But as Ken Lord says below; Are they putting any mechanical override in place (should be mandatory!), as in the GO incident (assuming it SW error).

@mayhem661616 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Unlimited budget and they still roll with 1980’s processors that take forever to render.

@stephenparkes626 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

No price was mentioned, best keep it that way .

@TheOUboy October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I think a captain would be pleased with that set up what do you think?

@simonsmith7575 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Can someone please address the elephant in the room.

@wernerdanler2742 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Yikes! Star Trek, here we come. Lol

@nigeldewallens1115 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Wow! That was amazing! when I think back to my dad's boat! We had a table that was used for the charts! We had rader which was a tube type and the screen was orange you could increase the brightness and that was about it! LOL!! It also needed to warm up! Oh that was fantastic to see the new chart table!

@easemailboxes October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Given your extensive experience i would loved to have heard your opinion on the pros cons of this system.

@Peter-nh5hv October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Does anything give directions on where to go to avoid rough ocean or hurricane ? Other than a radio ?

@Rama_Guru October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

The most important thing would be can it make an earl gray tea, hot, please… If it can do that I buy it ha ha ha

@internetapocalypse4885 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Wow, very neat👍

@crowdog56 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I live on Puget Sound in Washington State and I swear, the initial chart he shows is of Vashon Island and Commencement Bay in Tacoma. Maybe not, but it sure bears a striking resemblance to an area I know well.

@colinmorgan7771 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

wow some amazing technological advancements

@philipmason3218 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

Brilliant, until the cleaner trips over a loose wire and pulls the plug out.

@tophan5146 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

If a screen displays big bright chart, during the night it could be an issue.

@trig October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I dont know much about boats, but I know a syrup when I see one!😂

@SylvieLaflamme October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

This is great new tech but I am afraid to see a superyacht working only with that. I will always dream of a 2 ways: technology AND old manual system on the same boat. I will feel more secure.

@DoomfarerCDN October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

As long as you can have backup analog gauges, this tech is very cool, especially the charts. For large builds 55+ metres, this would be great with a large enough crew/engineer as backup down below. It seems too big for smaller vessels. But yes, it is really cool trekkie level stuff.

@ysesq October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

furuno software is so dated lol

@rockysouthflorida1707 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Only a 55 inch screen! WTF my fishing boat has a 70 inch screen! LOL! Too dam funny so big you won't be able to see out the windows when you run into the bridge!
Cheers from the States!

@peterwaugh9416 October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

"Can you install this system in an older boat" YES $$$$$$$$ of course we can $$$$$$$$$

@grondhero October 18, 2024 - 2:48 pm

I don't like the digital "consoles." I'm a big fan of actually having buttons to push; however, I really do like the navigation chart he started out with. That technology is so awesome to me. 🙂
