How Xbox Account Thieves are JACKING Accounts. It’s no longer a case of social engineering or brute force attacks on Xbox accounts. It’s a simple technique made by Microsoft but is being abused by the Xbox Account Thieves. It is a simply code made by Microsoft and exploited by Xbox Account Hackers. The victim is given a code, after entering that code in a Microsoft portal, they ultimately unknowingly give account access to the hacker or thief. I’ve seen this a few times before but it seems much more common on Xbox now.
In Xbox LFG, I found a post that claimed to be giving away a free modded GTA Xbox account. I knew there was some kind of catch but I played along and got interested. The Xbox Account Thief sent me a link to a Microsoft link page. He generated a code and prompted me to type in that code, followed by clicking “Allow Access” which would give the Xbox Account Thief access to my Xbox Account. I didn’t type in the code but I knew what comes next. After that, I was prompted to type in my password. He was telling me I’ll get a modded Xbox account this way. But honestly, he was just wanting me to allow access to my Microsoft account.
After typing the code in and typing in my password, the Xbox Account Thief would instantly get access to my Microsoft account/Xbox account. This would enable them to reset my password, change the email, and lock me out of the account so they can steal it and perhaps sell it. On Microsoft’s page, it specifically says not to enter a code from a source(s) you don’t trust. But that doesn’t mean someone wouldn’t fall for this. Microsoft’s only warning on this exploit is to not use the code from another person you don’t trust. But I figured a video might help some players out.
I looked more into this and discovered Microsoft made code sharing for the sole purpose of sharing files, documents, etc. But I couldn’t find how these codes are being generated. So on Twitter, I asked you guys for some help. I was told these codes are simply generated from a different device to quickly link accounts on secondary devices. It’s supposed to be a quick and convenient way of signing into an account on a different device. Now Xbox Account Thieves and Xbox Account Hackers are abusing it to steal Xbox accounts.
Do NOT enter codes from sources you don’t trust. This includes other players that you don’t know because your Xbox account could instantly get compromised. Stay safe!

Made a post giving them away and got so many idiots thinking that sending them an account was somehow me trying to get their account.
Like, I even tried explaining how it wouldn't make sense, and they were just like "nah whatever, liar"
I got rid of 2 accounts before I went "man, f*ck these people 😂"
