We live in a world where people are spending upwards of $100 mostly for early access and other small perks. That's far worse than renting games on a service like Game Pass in my opinion. I see the value in a subscription because you're getting access to a lot of content and if you play through enough games it's worth the money. And you're guaranteed new games on a consistent basis as well as a large back catalogue to enjoy.

I am a msoft business partner. Msoft are not limiting themselves to one console in distribution now. They have lost too much money not 'spreading' their games to larger audiences. In such most AAA msoft owned titles are going to ps and some nintendo. Msoft are going initially going towards a new stream, portable. To compete with the steam-deck. Then new xbox end of 26

The only console still worth buying physical media on is the Switch. PlayStation and Xbox make no sense to buy physical except for display or collector purposes.

They will probably spend less on third party for GamePass. Meaning less and smaller titles will show up but they will drip feed more from their first party studios.
