The practical effects of the first 2 Predator movies looks so much better than the CGI they used in this movie. It really looked bad 👎I think practical effects look better most of the time

“Nebraska” was such a ridiculous character, any time something would happen “I was a contractor””you aren’t the only sniper” bro just happened to dabble in every job category apparently. Also why did the predator attack those people instead of trying to talk to them to give them the new tech? Made no sense

At least the segment at 10:20 would've made the jarring shift in Predator hunting "motivations" a little easier to swallow. The comics have LONG since fleshed out the Predator Code of Honor, which holds hybrids as abominations and tasks elite Predators with hunting them down and exterminating them at any cost. Allying with humans to take down the abomination (no, it was not a cool design) would've been right in line with that theme and made Shane seem like a semi-competent writer.

Sorry but Shane black is not a good writer he ruined the Ironman trilogy adding to much comedy and ruined predator that is supposed to be scary he should leave franchise films alone and make original films or sitcoms he should write for family guy or the Simpsons they need his service he is no longer blockbuster material

Shane Hack! This film is so straight up terrible it makes AVP look good. I can't even bring myself to watch clips of it, it's so dumb and cringey. Can Disney wipe it from existence like they did with Willow series? Prey was good, not great, but this p.o.s film made it look like a masterpiece!

As is the case with most Hollywood films, this was a victim of truly shoddy, lazy writing. A truly wasted potential, especially with a cast like that. Thomas Jane and Shane Black FFS, they could have done amazing things with them on board.

I watched it for the first time last night and was amazed how bad it is. Shane Black pulled a Taika Waititi or a Rian Johnson and killed this movie with an overdose of inappropriate, almost 4th wall breaking humor. I give Paul W.S Anderson's AvP a solid 5/10. At least it didn't feel like Anderson only made the movie to amuse himself. I give The Predator 2/10 if I'm being generous.

The Predator made Alien Resurrection look like high art by comparison. The Predator felt like they tried to do a remix album of a band's greatrst hits & they completely fucked it up! It's has the Predator on Predator action from Predators, the urban setting from Predator 2 & the wisecracking soldiers from the original. But while these elements could & should have made for an agreeable enough romp the film constantly shoots itself in the foot with nonsensical plotting, laughable casting choices & really bad CGI!

This movie objectively sucked! An overly complicated terrible plot, bad cgi, awful predator design (especially the face & mandibles), the upgrade predator was trash & the characters were awful.

A biologist jumping on moving busses with a big ass gun chasing a predator? That's such BS.

Worst is that they overexposed the predator, had him running in an open field not in camouflage. Seriously?? The humor sucked too. Its the worst predator movie IMO.

Such a terrible letdown..

I loved this movie 😌 Predator just isn't scary anymore. Prey wasn't scary.

Prey felt alone and isolated like another standalone Predator movie, where at the end of the movie nothing matters. "There will probably be a reference to some artifact passed onto a future character." Woopty doo, I was right. Glover's flintlock. Woooow.

Shane Black attempted to world build. He had great side characters. Most of them were competent enough to engage in a memorable battle, whereas the indians were not memorable at all (except for the brother and main), who solely seemed to serve as feminist exposition rage. Bullying the girl made me roll my eyes. If the purpose is to make me cheer for the Predator going on a spree, then you've already effectively nullified any sense of "horror" that so many in the comments are citing. Prey can't be scary. Maybe if we all got Men In Black neuralyzed it could be freaky, but the truth is we've seen our boi like at least six times now across all sorts of mediums, even games. There is nothing you can type that will change that.

The truth is Shane Black's Predator was fantastic and is downright better in every single way :)
✅Meaningful characters
✅Fun human antagonist with charisma
✅ Alien antagonist is unnerving
✅Most characters don't die like dorks
✅World builds the Predator universe
✅Doesn't follow the "LAST ACTION HERO vs PREDADUR" pattern (What do you want, Jake Sully vs Predator?)
✅Stirred genuine curiosity to see what possibly could have started a Pred civil war, making me want more Pred.

Shane Black is just ahead of the game, Last Jedi lovers😌

I recently watched this movie and it was not good.......the 1st Alien vs Predator and Predators were 10 times better than this one.
