Yeah I had my eyes on these two PS3 models for a long time and I figured I might as well grab them from eBay now before good examples are snatched up. And sure, one might say “Ryan, you have enough PS3’s” but I would likely respond with a fit of rage. So to make things simple, here’s a 40GB Satin Silver and Ceramic White PlayStation 3. Which now completes the iconic trio of consoles we once saw during Sony’s 2005 E3 Press Conference. I’ve made Kutaragi San proud! Or at least I would hope so. I desperately seek his approval.

I have recently bought a silver 60GB fat PS3 with chrome trim (like on the blackones) wich is backwards compatible (the CECHC04). It was a lucky find after my old black Fat PS3 (also CECHC04) got the YLOD. Love to play GTA4 on that one.❤😊

I’ve owned and extensively used every PlayStation except for the ps1 and ps3. I feel like I missed the greatest generation of ps because of it. I’ve owned and still have my original ps2 from June 2002 ish. Had switched to Xbox for a bit but switched back when the ps4 launched and went to ps5 from there.

Mystic if your serious about getting your launch PS3 working now there is a service it's called Frankenstein where the 90nm RSX is replaced with a much more reliable 65 or 40nm version Computer Booter in California offers this service check it out it you want your console fixed right.

You should get one of the Cell Regza TVs. It seems it was released only in Japan and it uses Cell. Kinda curious how the motherboard looks. There's one broken model atm in japanese auctions. I'd order it but I bet shipping is insane.

Hopefully I dont have a problem now. I currently own a CECHG01 thats my main one (I have a slim thats a backup) but I also have a CECHP01 coming in soon. I dunno, the fat ones just are gorgeous to me, so thats why Ive been getting them. I only care mostly for the non-backwards compatible fats because of the less likely chance of YLOD. And I like to detail these things too. I clean them up, polish and buff them to get rid of scratches, and I add a finisher wax to restore the black shine. I pretty much have them looking like new when I'm done with them

I swear man that OG launch model PS3 is like the Cadillac of consoles big Gotti bloated impractical but absolutely beautiful. It literally does everything especially when you have custom firmware on it and it still looks and feels next-gen we don't get hardware like this anymore and we never will. So many features and so much value in that thing. It's a shame Sony had this trip so much of it away towards the end.
