Xbox has lost the console war. Microsoft has fully absorbed the soul of Xbox to make it become just another soulless arm in Microsoft’s business. All the leadership have succumbed to the pressure of their CEO and what’s left in the wake are broken promises and lies. Will Xbox fans tolerate Xbox becoming a shell of its former self albeit more bloated and gigantic than before, as a third party publisher? Will Phil Spencer continue to be hailed as a hero within the Xbox camp? Not with me.

Microsoft could never lose the console war. If Xbox wanted to put out a beat console that would slap Sony to the ground, they could. Instead they care focusing more on other things then gaming systems.

The problem with Xbox has always been Microsoft. That is why I never had any faith in the brand. Even the 360 was a perfect storm of a year head start and Sony doing everything wrong to start the generation. Imagine if Bungie and Halo didn’t fall into their laps. They can’t create.

The whole reason they bought bethesda and Activision was because PlayStation was gonna keep Activision and Bethesda games off xbox so they bought them to keep them on xbox, not to keep them from PlayStation. They kinda backed themselves in a corner cuz the community expects them to make them exclusives but the ftc and other regulators didn’t want to allow them to make deals if they made games exclusives. So now they are forced to give some exclusives to PlayStation cuz the regulators for some reason don’t like Microsoft having exclusives but don’t care about PlayStations 3rd party exclusive backdoor deals

I will continue to play my Xbox since I paid for the fucking thing but I don’t think I’ll invest as much as I use to. It will be on a game by game basis. Sounds familiar, huh, Microsoft?!

I'm hoping Microsoft change tactic and release a powerfull next gen console around 2026 with a disk drive and full backwards compatibility much like we have now.
Also, to only keep Call of Duty multi platform and start being aggressive with exclusives again like they were during the 360 era, As the owner of the Series X & PS5 i want both companies to fight it out for my money.

The only thing that annoys me is that Xbox's strategy doesn't effect Playstation's behavior and make them compete. The pricing on the PS5 Pro is a prime example. But it's obvious that Phil decided that the traditional Console War couldn't be won so he decided to start a new battlefield more conducive to Xbox and Microsoft's strengths. But he shouldn't have stopped competing altogether on the traditional field. If we're not getting Sony exclusives, why should they get Xbox's? But overall...I can play what I want so, the console wars are just side entertainment. Thanks Gaz.

When you have defeatist weak management, everyone else will fall to that too. Sad to see.
They own all the XBox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision and Blizzard. Grow a backbone, shout your brand to the rooftop and have some pride.
They need a new leader to get them back on track.

Gaz I hope you can take into account this point when going on the Podcast tonight with Jaffe:

Series X|S currently sold ~30 Million units. Ask those people why they bought the Xbox in the first. I guarantee you they will say anything but it’s Exclusives.

People went naturally from 360 to X1 to X|S. Others wanna play Game Pass. Others use it on the side with PC Play Anywhere. It all comes doen to the ecosystem, not it’s exclusives.

Then ask yourself: if the current Xbox owners didn’t get one for the Exclusives as the top reason, what’s the consequence of getting rid of Exclusives?

Nobody bought an Xbox because the Exclusives are lacklusters, but all of a sudden people will stop buying Xbox’s because the Exclusives go away? And I’m saying that from Europe where it’s Pony land. They don’t give a F about Xbox over here with or without Exclusives.
