Rob presents our list of 7 types of gamer we’ve all met online at some point. Some help us, some humble us, and some just downright disrespect us. Online gaming can be a wild, unruly place and these player types make it even more unpredictable. Here’s the seven gamer types we’ve all encountered. How many of these have you encountered?

Inspiring as always Rob. One day I wouldn't mind seeing Apex Legends as a topic in a Friday feature...not my favourite game but definitely my most played as I manage to consistently play an hour a day just to warm up for a game session

Secret entry 8 (gamer girl exclusive): the sandwich guy. You know the one, ladies. The same, tired old joke every damn time they hear anything even resembling a member of the opposite sex. Of course the most satisfying thing about encountering these bottom-feeders is hearing their cries of incandescent rage when you have the bearfaced audacity to beat their asses.
Perhaps if they spent less time parroting Bernard Manning bits and more time actually gittin' gud, they might not be so cross all the time.

I don't play online anymore. As a middle aged bloke, I had a weird experience in Destiny where someone in my fire team brought in someone they never voice chatted with and when coms went on they were very obviously in their low teens. It was an awkward situation with stilted conversations.... so... if i had to give this type of player a title, it would be the "Chris Hansen"

Yeah, im a happy 6 collection everything and be OP if i can be any online game more so over in coop that way u help others more then not.

I've definitely met that last type of gamer too many times online. The reason I don't use headphones anymore. Always some idiot on the other end playing loud distracting music, breathing heavily, talking nonsense or interrupting your focus with some weird noises.😂😅

Damn I'd love to play HD2 someday, as soon as I can play it with mouse and keyboard on PS5😅 By then the lobbies will probably be dead. Same with Space Marine 2 😅

I have successfully avoided the vast majority of these on account of how I avoid online play because other people are the absolute worst. But I have come across the occasional irritating name person when I get invaded in a Dark Souls game.

I also happen to be not a fan of the types of games that often lend themselves to online play. I'm a big RPG guy myself, especially the old-school menu style turn-based RPGs

I've admittedly been the Drill Sergeant way more than I'd like. I just try to play for fun, but everyone eventually dicks around and the team gets stuck on a single objective, or we hit a massive losing streak. Everyone wants to succeed, but no one actually wants to take the game seriously enough to do that, so I have to start telling people "You gotta do X" or "We need to be at Y" or "Make sure you have Z equip for this next part".

It usually works and then everyone can go back to goofing off again

This Friday Feature never gets old and the comments get even better with people sharing their experiences😁
I'm not one for online multiplayer. I rather play offline co-op. The only times I play only multiplayer is because of trophies in games I want to achieve Platinum. So I'm definitely the Total Newcomer when it comes to this game mode. And I wanna thank to all the Online Mentors who have helped me get all the Raid Mode trophies in Resident Evil: Revelations. Thank you guys whoever you are!
