Let me know in the comments what you think. I can’t wait to see what you create with the next version coming soon!

(The .sav save file must be next to the rom. If you use a flashcart, place the save file in the correct folder)

cool 😎
edit: can't wait to see what people make with your creation, I think its awesome to think that something that you create can spark creativity in others and it sort of becomes its own form of art, keep up the good work.
How could run in a 386 33 MHz with EGA?
Awesome 👍👍👍
dude just for the love of God I am in love with your work and what you doing release the game engine even if it's not perfect and fully fledged I understand you want to make something really clean but please release it
08:04 this is genius
This is so hype
Heyey, 3dsage, i love your channel and this project is amazing, but, I know you do 3D projects, but could you make a 2D game engine for the GBA? Or at least ask a developer to try to make one? Because I would really like to make a 2D project for the GBA, but I don't know anything about programming and coding in games.
What 4 months does to a mf
Uhm, can i play this on my phone?
Is this a version of the doom engine I see? If its not, you used a lot of assets from it! Right now I am trying to remake an old c64 game with a top-down veiw of dungeons and enemies, with your doom engine. At the moment, I am having a bug with the layering of the walls textures (due to the 3d objects being positioned weirdly). I recorded a video for demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwg5ld0GG5s please let me know if there is something obvious that I missed when coding, or if its a tutorial part 3 thing. Thanks!
Bro add vehicles
Very excited for this! Understand it makes sense to aim for a multiplayer deathmatch thing but hope that maybe some 1-player stuff could be added in future, personally i'd be interested in using this for more of a walking simulator / mystery / LSD Dream Emulator kind of thing 🙂
Any way that some tiny ai features could be utilized to get rid of the aliasing? That would make it mindblowing
Imagine if this was actually released back on the GBA in it's heyday; if it included pre-made weapons, enemies, etc. you could also place around the map, then share your levels with others via a link cable (the level would be saved to their cartridge so they could replay it later.) This could've been a huge hitter on the system, and maybe introduce a lot of kids to the world of game development. I can already imagine the alternate timeline where people reminisce about going around summer camp sharing levels with each other, or the threads from people digging their old copy out of storage and playing a level they got from a kid 20 years ago, wondering where that kid is nowadays.
Absolutely the coolest thing I've seen on GBA. Subscribing so I dont miss the next version with the editor and UI!
Speechless
This looks fantastic!
hi
I tried and it froze at white screen. how to solve it? (i have flashcart on me, so where do they store it?)
This is one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed. Great job, mate. If people don't understand how limited the GBA is, they may think this is no big deal. But I love stuff like this and Open Lara running on an old GBA.
Hi, I’m so excited to use this. Is there a reason when I try to use the game the screen just goes white?
Покорми уже кота!
I just stumbled upon your channel, but I am blown away with what you’ve managed to do with GBA Hardware, this is awesome work mate. 👍
This is awesome 😍 I'm really looking forward creating my own lil fps with this for gba 😁 hope I will find time soon
Amazing job man!
Its very cool, maybe eventually you could add interactive signs or button!
Hey I want to note something, you said 90% of your viewers are not subscribed. I was subscribed, and now every single time I subscribe I come back to a video and I am no longer subscribed? WTF???
if someone doesn't make gta3 port to gba
I’m really excited about this project I can’t wait for the next update! Best of luck man
Hello! Will your tutorial be for the GBA. I would be SO happy if it is!
How come this 3D sage demo is so much more advanced?:
https://youtu.be/fuOkgG2OOHM
I am actually looking for the best 3D FPS engine to recommend to Raspberry PI PICO system games developers, to bring Quake and more advanced Doom version to the Pico systems, as they seem to be stuck at DOOM. Also the Unreal games. The PICO has more advanced versions of the GBA processor running much faster.
The scheme would be to substitute one of these engines in place of the original tender engine of the ID and Unreal games, and cube games, redo the graphic assets through a conversion program to render them correctly. So that PI Pico gets a descent level of retro gaming, which includes the ability to make something approaching Quake 4., though obviously much lower quality. Are you interested?
The demo above, reminds me a bit of Tesseract, which is a newer version of the light weight Cube2 engine. So, it looks better than the cut down version of cube, Yeti3D. But, if you look at the Yeti 3D pro demo on that channel, it's pretty good. These two engines, and the Quake clone in machine code the guy who did Quake NES did, they are the best I have seen. You could probably learn lots of optimisations down to the machine code level from those two engines, and the 4 main cube derivatives, to incorporate into your own engine to optimise it. Because Yeti 3D Pro is old, commercial priority, and Derek who made it, disappeared, so nobody can get a license to develop with it. So, having an open option for low end systems again, would be good, such as all those Kali OS (Firefox OS) cheap phones (over 100 million I think).
The DS and 3DS, also maintain a separate GBA core, it turns out. So, your engine should run on there.
U genius!!!!
Please a 2d engine for the gba, I can't install devkitpro at all, I really wanted a game like Smash.bros advance, with anime characters
i think you should use the controls from doom for the GBA if this is intended for first person shooters
Very doombuilderesque. That's not a bad thing, it's quite intuitive to work with (until you get into the vagaries of the doom engine itself anyway)
Wow is legendary! Your work is perfect!
Source code when?
I have a European keyboard, which key should I press to open the editor ?😅
Serious question:
Can the engine be played on PSP? (PlayStation portable)
I downloaded this and opens but there was only intro photo and then everything was white
How is going the project for the fully playable version of this masterpiece ? 👍😆
Just checked the demo and I really wonder how this would feel on the OG system (got 2 of them but no flash cards…) but on PC it already feels really powerfull. The editor looks fun too, can't wait for the update to play around with it just for old time sake and maybe use it for a chiptune music video <3
Fun fact: there are official 3d games on gba
I was VERY interested in this project and I want to be able to use the program when it has more features. I thought it would be useful to add the function of placing gifs, such as a texture or an object on the map. I don't know if it would be complicated since I don't know anything about programming, it was just an idea in case you haven't thought of it.
I even prepared tea to watch this video!
i can not wait.
Awesome project! Would it be possible to play this on a 3DS? I know regular DS's can run GBA cartridges, and 3DS's can run DS games
idk if you'll see this, but I can't import the included .sav to Delta on iPhone, so the game stays stuck on the faded white screen after the title 😢
Hello 3dsage, I'm going to ask you a question, did you make some YouTube videos talking about how to make the false 3D simulation technique system that uses driver3 and also that uses Asterix & Obelix XXL for the game boy advance console?,
and also I'm going to ask you another question, do you know some documentaries about how to make the fake 3D simulation technique system that uses driver3 and Asterix & Obelix XXL?
because I want to know how these fake 3D simulation technique systems of these games work to use a video game project that I want to do in the future.
This proves that the GBA is more powerful than the snes. People who claimed the gba was just a portable snes weren't doing it justice.
