Space Marine 2 is an incredible game. Even as someone who never played the original Space Marine, my personal excitement levels for its sequel were high, given how promising it looked with each showing, as well how strongly it was taking cues from Gears of War, a series I cannot get enough of.
And happily enough, Space Marine 2 is good enough to not only match those expectations, but easily surpass them. It is, in fact, legitimately one of the best action games to have come out in recent memory.
With adrenaline-fueled combat, breathtaking scale, unforgettable encounters again hordes of massive sizes, and impressive technical achievements, Space Marine 2 is easily one of 2024’s standout games.

Game of the generation so far
One of my main complain in this game is total lack of progression or upgrade system in the campaign. In the first game there are some semblance of progression so it’s weird that there is none here.
The problem that the campaign are geared towards co-op so much that progression system would break the balance of the game.
What I think they should have done is make the campaign a total single player experience with progression and upgrade syatem while leave the multiplayer to operations and eternal war.
Just bought this, Wu Kong, and payed off Silent Hill 2 LFG!!!!
This game is awesome! My only problem and it is a minor one really is the enemy. The tyranids although nasty looking and come in huge groups but i just find them a bit bland. The orcs from the first game (not played but watched) looked significantly more interesting to fight imo than a kind of grayish mass most od the time. But that's just a personal nitpick

If the 40K TV show ever happens, they gotta get Titus' VO actor, Clive Standen, in there…and obviously Cavill. That's 2 Astartes autocast.
Looks alright but repetitive (shoot endless swarms of grubs). Will wait till its on sale :/

Don't buy in to the hype. Played it for 20+ hours and honestly it is just a very repetitive game with a clunky combat system. PvP is also very basic and just has a leveling system slapped on it to try to keep you engaged. Was very dissapointed.

I hate it when ppl compared this to gears of war. Literally the only thing they have in common is being a shooter game with buff dudes. They share almost 0 gameplay mechanics beyond shooting. I can see the comparison of the style, but calling it a “ gears “ type game is just straight up wrong. Not to mention 40k lore existed 30 years before gears did…
Not a fan of the franchise but this looks like a fun action game. Probably play get it on sale.
I'm playing this game, and i can clearly see this review is well written and well told, my favorite review so far.
Story is the only good thing about this game. In the end the fighting is way to simple so they rush you with crap to make it not seem as easy. They put to many different combat actions in to make the game seem hard.

First space marine game was fun. The second one looks awesome as well. At least it is a manly game. No he she it and homo characters.
I stopped listening to the reviews, I have feeling that most of the reviews for any game is just following the hype. If someone says game is awesome, most of the reviews will claim it is awesome, if someone says game is bad, most of the reviews will claim it is bad. I can't even recall how many games I have skipped at the beginning due to poor reviews, to find out later that game is one of the best I've played, same goes with good reviews.
Great game, I just wish the friendly ai bots weren't completely useless
It looks amazing but I'm a bit frustrated about them releasing the game on a Monday so people would buy their100 bucks editions with 4 day early access. Why do games studios constantly feel the need to do us over?

The engine that they used for their swarm tech is incredible. If anyone else wants to see what that engine can do, try world war z, fun game alone or with friends.

Warhammer 40k all series games SUCKS, all wack games…. i download on gamepass and delete it within 1hr, please dont let me down on space marine 2 please !
