According to a new report, Microsoft is banking that Call of Duty will help to increase its game pass subscription numbers.

That’s according to The Verge’s Tom Warren, who has reported that sources have said that Microsoft is hoping that Call of Duty coming to Xbox Game Pass will help to grow its gaming revenue numbers. According to Warren, the company had a long debate as to whether or not they should put this year’s Call of Duty title, which will be Black Ops 6, into the subscription server. He continues to report that the “company is now gambling that it will help improve Game Pass subscriber numbers amid a busy holiday season for new Xbox games and a promising year ahead.” Now that Xbox is basically dead it seems like Sony is barely trying with the PS5 and PlayStation 5 Pro because all big AAA games will now come to PS5 and sell like crazy since it is the main console platform right now.

I don't get the narrative of sony is failing. That is MS, by every objective metric, it is flopping.

Sony has sold 137M of hardware units costed $200 usd or more since March 2017.

When you do apples to apples comparisons with Nintendo, its impressive they are selling aswell of them with much more expensive hardware.

They also sell 1/3 more software despite ps5 userbase being smaller than switch


The "sony is failing" narrative is laughable when PS5 is outpacing ps4 sales.

Game Pass killed Xbox, For every Xbox owner that didnt like COD..... there was nothing for us. I loved the battlefield series ...... until it resembled COD in all but name !! For me BF5 killed xbox and game pass just kept on getting more and more expensive for games I didmt want to play and "free" games I normally already had on my hard drive !!! £70 a month for a load of crap and falling player numbers so I couldnt play BF4 with any friends..... so I quit. I remember at the time 3 years ago thinking PS4 or PC.... guess which one I chose !! and now all I can do is sympathise with all console owners as the company that has no competition will be lazy !!!

How is Xbox not competing. I can play Xbox games on nearly any platform i can think of. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, mobile & cloud via Smart TVs, Amazon Firesticks 😂😂😂. They've taken over nearly everything.

I think it's more apprehension than laziness. These companies don't want to take risks anymore, which is why we keep getting the same old cookie cutter bullshit. Sony hasn't really innovated since the PS2 and PS3 eras. EDIT: Although, Astro Bot is amazing

I’m just going to say it, there is no way PlayStation knew xbox was going to be burning down like it has. games take time to launch and thats the real problem with video game news outlets. If they don’t have constant flow of new games they start to claim there isn’t enough exclusives. They just released Astrobot! You really cant have this conversation until this time next year or so to see how Sony is responding to xbox stumble. Plus we all know they were trying to go in on these games as a service which hasn’t played out well for them. The last of us multiplayer canceled and concord dead. They are going to take time to get on the right foot.
