1:16 There is no such thing as "sexual fluidity", it is a dangerous homophobic stereotype that suggests that sexuality can change or can be changed. If a person "changes" his/her sexual orientation is either because he/she is still not sure about the sexual orientation and is still experimenting or has finally realized what sexual orientation he/she has.

@Christian20013 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Watch mojo stop supporting homosexuality transdgender non binary it’s a sin against god and I’m a Christian

This list is more like "Top 10 LGB Couples in Movies" – Which there is nothing wrong with but the title is somewhat inaccurate. 🙂

Top 10 LGBTQ+ characters in anime movies update? 🙂

@MonyXChan September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Basically you picked the most mainstream ones. Not saying there aren’t good pairs here, but it is clear you have no concept of what lgbt people actually look for. CMBYN is widely hated by a large portion of the community for leaning into the narrative that gay men are predatory.
Also lots of these are sad and about the pain of being lgbt.

@thexphial September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Can't help but notice the distinct lack of Trans representation on this list.

@zeyuwang8636 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Carol’ director did the best choice when he cast Cate and Rooney as couple,that make the movie succeed 50% already. It is same to Brokeback Mountain’ director Lee An.

@avekatumba4794 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Why put LGBTQ+ when it only encompasses mostly 2 of those cis identities? Angel & Papi, Nomi & Amanita, Blanca & Christopher, Callie & the character Elliott Fletcher played and others that include trans people should be included.

@politemenace5781 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

That awkward moment when Call Me by Your Name is on this list but not Maurice. Also Portrait of a Lady on Fire deserved to be higher

@razhelfombelle September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

You lost me at Call me by your Name and Adèle and Emma. The 1st one romanticizes a relationship btw a minor and an adult. The actors are both adults but not their characters, and it sends an AWFUL message to young queer people (and teens in general) that's it's okay and romantic for an adult to groom them. It's not, it's predatory. As for the 2nd: this movie is known as one of the WORST depictions of queer relationships in movies. It's toxic and oversexualizes lesbian relationships, something the director forced the actresses who were highly uncomfortable with the way he filmed them to do.
It shows, once again, that you know NOTHING about what you're talking about. How about next time you try to reach out to the community you're trying to talk about? And let's be clear, I'm mad because many teenagers, including queer ones, watch your channel and will listen to your recommendations, and therefore might watch this movies assuming that's they're romantic and a good representation when it's actually bad and dangerous.

Id like to give props to this list maker, it had a mix of time periods, places and races.

@dlo7253 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Lol the way to put unhealthy representation of queer couples for the sake of them being mainstream in some sort

@brandonhaworth98 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

I wish I could say I liked all of this……..but I can’t

The absolute best queer storytelling and representation has happened outside of cinema.

Television shows like Pose and Orange is the New Black have all got better storylines than movies like Call me by your name and love Simon. Because 1 of those movies a grooming movie since Elio is 17 and Oliver is 24. That’s a massive issue. And the other movie is just a sugarcoated coming out story. Pose shows the opposite reaction of coming out as Damon in season 1 HAD to come out. Understand that. He HAD to, he didn’t get the courage to finally do it in his own time he HAD to because he was outed by his fathers friends. He is then thrown out the house and disowned. Pose didn’t sugarcoat ANYTHING, it showed us the actual real life dangers of living openly as a queer person.

Orange is the New Black showed us how life is like living in prison as a black trans woman and a gay woman. The character of Sam Healy is incredibly homophobic towards the women in the prison specifically Piper and Big Boo throwing Piper in the SHU and calling Big Boo the “worst” one. He’s also extremely misogynistic and sexist towards his wife who happens to be someone he PURCHASED online as if she was an object. Hmmmmm ewww and the shows overarching theme is racial discrimination in the prison system and the privilege that inherently carries.

Pose and Orange is the New Black has authentic representation anyway with actual queer people behind the camera so take that into consideration. The reason why this video exists is because of the heteronormativity that the movie industry places on the LGBTQ community and the need for representation.

Representation is important but AUTHENTIC representation is vital and those movies ain’t it.

@ivyeadwine1532 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Omg we need a part 2 of this list cuz Nomi & Amanita from Sense8 deserve recognition af! Lito & Hernando as well from Sense8 are an honorable mention.

@Tronipule September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Benny & Christopher from Akron…. definitely need to be in the list

Anonymous September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

So glad you mentioned Weekend. That's the most, if not the only, realistic depiction of how a couple could fall in love over the span of just two days.

@briansherrod1916 September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

I didn’t know most of these movies but gives me a chance to check them out. 10 year plan is another good one!

@devi3ant September 16, 2024 - 4:44 am

Suggestions- Ceely and Shug in The Color Purple, Mickey and Liam in Shameless (US) series, La Miranda and Matty Dean in Stonewall (1995 version). Oftentimes LGBTQ relationships end early in tragedy in movies and TV. It is hard to find a movie or series with a happy gay ending.
