Dire Straits "Money For Nothing." Be careful not to do the censored version
You would love "Skateaway"…..sometimes called "Rollergirl"
Please react to, BGKO (live in Vilnius)- Od Ebra Do Dunava
GREAT song Dire Straits Amazing band Marc knophler Genius the guitars…….
I like this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNJ-hBA_-80
Ah ..the 80's head and wrist bands for show lol. I graduated high school in 85, what a time to be alive. Sports gear was one thing, then "work out" videos and just wearing these items became the norm , girls more than boys but you might see them anywhere just because lol. Love this song (as with all of their music) another big radio hit for sure. Not as much "one man" guitar show from Mark but the harmony's and voice was on point as expected. Keep rocking you 2 🙂
I listened to this song training for sports
No 8:57 no….it was all the rage back in the day!! The terry cloth headband, matching wrist bands. 😊😊
Yes!!!! Love it love it!! 😍
Was pumped to see this! Hope it’s the official video! 😊😊❤
Never seen linked to american football tho kind of works lol
Walk of life is a fav. I always loved the depiction of humility in life
Fairly early history of Music Video not long after MTV arrived as a platform for bands to get noticed
There’s another walk of life video where it shows a guitar player busking in a subway. But, I like this video better.
I’m not a big sports head, but that keyboard reminds me of the Organ player at a Yankees game. Or something like that. Like I don’t remember if I heard this at a game, but it sounds like the music I would hear at a game. In between innings, I’m thinking of baseball, of course. Even though the lyrics don’t match, it’s still the same. That boy can play.
You get knocked down and then you get right back up.
Sports and music is entertainment. It shows various forms of entertainment.
I can't help but sing along with this song.
Please check out and react to the live/concert version of this song.
Love this track ❤❤
One of my favorite MTV videos.
The video is just supposed to be fun. Nothing more and nothing less. It holds no deep social meaning.
Music review should be 80% music and 20% lyrics. You do a pretty good job of that. Some reviewers talk mostly about the lyrics. Ugh.
This album dominated 1985.
Heck, I must admit, I wear a white headband now whenever I am working outside doing the yard or working on my garden!!! I tend to sweat a lot from my forehead, temples area.
Videos don’t always need a meaning
If you like Led Zeppelin, listen to the solo song by Robert Plant "Heaven Knows" you will love it I am very sure!!!!
Sounds like a Bruce Springsteen song.
The Walk of Life…some of it goes your way some not so much. Thus the bloopers in the beginning and the success at the end.
We all fall down and we get back up that's the walk the walk of life
The stupidest reaction to this song I've ever heard. They were specifically targeting American Athletes. The Walk of Life. Meaning these guys are at the top of their game, they're living their dream. How did you two come up with such a complicated overthinking bullshit comment .
I think the song is about society as a whole, remember the bands didn't have much to do with videos in those days. The American sports bearing in mind Dire Straits are English, might of been to make to make it more MTV friendly? (MTV used to play music kids!)🏴
I'd love to see you react to Twisting By the Pool and Skateaway.
Listen to John Fogerty……
Centerfield
The sports bloopers, and at the end, the successful moments, fit perfectly with this song. It's one of the best videos ever made.
Notice the musical structure of the song. There is a standard rock n roll rhythm going for a majority of the song. This also gives a certain nostalgia to the song.
I've been listening to this song since it came out, and I have never seen this video! Seems a bit strange to me in conjunction with the lyrics.
Video's in the 80's had to unique and just as catchy as the song to get more air time on MTV
Seeing Crazy George in a quick snippet brought back, can't remember which American Sports team he was mascot/cheerleader for back in the 80's, but I remember when the BC Lions of the CFL brought him in to get the crowd going. 2:13
Their live performance of their song "Telegraph Road" from their Alchemy tour is top tier, you guys really should check it out. It is epic! Dire Straits are almost always better live. When in doubt, look for a live version.
