I was expecting Aliens on this list and not Alien judging from the thumbnail lol.
How dare you not even mention Star Trek! Spock sacrificing himself to save the ship, Kirk outsmarting Khan by hacking into his ship, Kirk winning the Koberashi Maru test. I could go on all day!
"Edge of Tomorrow"- basically a sci-fi version of "Groundhog Day"
You can’t hold your breath in space. It’s not like being under water. Most parts of space are almost a perfect vacuum. If anything, holding your breath would hurt you.
I came only for Martian
The Matrix – Red Pill
Star wars – isn't a sci-fi. It's pure fiction with no science
You really don't want to piss off a wookie
what about using uhura's necklace to find where the crew was being held in star trek beyond. Or what about the blood test from the thing?
I'm not scrolling through all the comments so if this has been mentioned already, sorry:
Dave Bowman's "smart decision" of blowing the pod hatch to shoot himself into the Discovery's airlock is more than negated by the massively STUPID decision to go EVA without a complete space suite in the first place.
I think I’m the only person who didn’t love Rogue 1. The climax was good and it was better after watching Clone Wars. But I thought the first part was kind of slow and all over the place.
For those who don't like the Disney timeline of Star Wars, here's a bit of lore: former storm trooper Kyle Katarn was the one who stole the schematics of the Death Star
Star Wars is not science fiction. It’s fantasy with robots.
Star Wars isn't Sci-fi. It's Fantasy
It is unrealistic to think that someone could grow potatoes on Mars without prior extensive planning. It would be hard enough to grow your own potatoes on Earth!
Holding your breath in space is not a good idea! Your lungs expand and explode… This is one of the first things a diver learns. 🙂
The one thing I (quietly) said in the theatre during The Martian was that he was so wasteful with his ketchup. Then.. He says, "…and I am officially out of ketchup."
I don't think Bowman's motives in 2001 were as described by this video. He was blown out of the pod because he had no means of depressurizing it other than, literally, blowing the door off. If he could have depressurized it he could have just lined up the doors, opened them and stepped from one vessel to the other. Either way, it worked.
i loved the music in interstellar
Rouge One is better than all the star wars movies except Empire.
What about The Martian completely ripping off Red Planet… that was pretty smart.
3:22 RED JOHN. ITS RED JOHN!
2001: ASO – Dave Bowman holding his breath in a vacuum would rupture his lungs. The trick is to exhale, though this will only give 30 seconds of excrutiating consciousness.
Nothing ever like star wars in worst or in good .
Dont fool with arnie 😉
Dave does not hold his breath, as that would damage his lungs. The correct procedure for entry into vacuum is to hyperventilate first, to oxygenate your lungs, then hold your mouth open so you don't get pressure damage. And get to air in 30 seconds or less.
OK, the ‘mud’ one is stupid
Star Wars is not Sci-Fi. It's space fantasy. There's a big difference. If you don't know that now, you never will.
Good day sir!
2001: Not so clever holding his breath. As soon as the pressure drops, the air in his lungs will expand and be expelled.
Wearing storm trooper uniforms?!?! Seriously!?!?! Yeah, that hasn't been a movie trope for a century or anything.
I think we all know that BTTF deserved more than an honorable mention!
I love how the Spoiler Alert is superimposed over a clip from a 51 year old film.
Damn I must be a nerd, because I've seen most of these.
Rouge One was full, and I mean full of plot holes!!! the topic you even mentioning was false!
Ripley activating the sprinklers to cause a red-hot Xenomorph to crack and explode through rapid temperature change at the end of Alien 3.
Uh yeah, that flaw in the death star wasn't really THAT good. It's nearly impossible to hit and took a space wizard TWO tries and help from a dead space wizard to hit it. I SUPPOSE it was better then nothing.
#3 is a lousy sci fi decision. It wouldn't fool IR/heat sensing devices.
Dutch discovered the mud trick by accident
Ripley is my # 1. One of the most heroic characters in sci fi.
WHAT CULTURE AND WATCH MOJO are the same people with the same lists?
