can’t expect white people to understand why black people are mad at that commercial.
@le.suzette2131 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
ok? so the chic in the red hair is saying that the commercial is a step for society to be more socially aware but what i see is that the commercial is treating the situation as a joke. the actions taken place in the commercial are so unrealistic. maybe showing society the real hassle taken place in a protest will open the eyes of society not this BS
@BladesPlayz September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
People are stupid. I didn't see anything wrong with the Pepsi ad there is something wrong with people that think there is something wrong.
@AnneettaLife September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
That Pepsi ad was cringe-worthy on so many levels.
@lalaa697 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Sprite taste better bish
@eshalatchman366 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Yet when Justin Beiber is taking a piss, you people over analyze it. Stop being a hypocrite
@lillithzazueta6034 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I think that people are overeating
@simi9951 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I like the pepsi advert. It was about unity and equality and that was they showed. It did not deserve to be pulled
@patrycjas.9902 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I freaking love taylor swift and I can't wait for her next album!!
@verimojaombingeneeko122 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
it would be so cool if taylor swift dropped an album in Mars before it came on earth ,leaving audience waiting and people seeing visuals eventually letting it drop on earth.
@ellaliefke900 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I didn't think anything of it when I watched it. I like what she pointed out about how today's society is micro managing anything little thing that's set in the publics eye. I think as a society we really need to work on that.
@Ana-xw4kw September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Oh Erin Girl did you get a hair cut?
@MunchkinDizzy September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Two white commentators don't understand the backlash? Hmm....
@stepanova8 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I didn't actually have a problem with the Pepsi ad.  Reaching across barriers, handing the cop a Pepsi.... I think it's a good message.  The conversation has to start somewhere.  Protesters shouting and venting,,, it's only a place to start, and if that's all anyone does then nothing will ever change.  Reaching out takes courage.  Real change will only happen when both sides get together to do the hard work that it takes to make that change.  The people who got all offended do not see that... they are not yet ready to let go of their feelings and look to the future.

I think if Coke had put out their "I'd like to teach the world to sing' those same people would be saying the same thing.... and they'd be just as wrong.
@LauraSarahsMusicFilter September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I actually agree with Erin on that Pepsi thing wholeheartedly!
Everyone can decide for themselves how to look at something and everyone has the right to express how they feel but that shouldn't be Pepsis problem. It would have been something great to talk about and here people's different opinions about important social problems but it got turned into something people just threw all their negativity at.
@yaneliosorio890 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
When the daughter of MLK Jr. calls you out, you know you messed up!
@miera8831 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Erin cant pronounce stupefy-ingly?? I might just have to expeliarmus DHR for a sec 😅
@LindaDulcinea September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I don't know, man. Plenty of the superbowl ads this year were centered around social issues and those were all fine. I think Pepsi could have taken a more authentic approach.
@kitfash September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Wow you two. I just remembered why I watching this channel. What you had to say about the Pepsi ad and how off you were to the true point of the backlash. I guess I shouldn't expect any differently.
@orlendatube September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I bet its pronounced Double Oh Six....similar to james bond?
@orlendatube September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
It a terrible ad-but only a small part of the badness is the "tone deaf" issue...its terribly constructed, uninteresting, and laughable rather than inspiring
@laracahow6303 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Honestly don't understand y pepsi's getting so much hate...... They didn't give a bad message
@josiefarnam9155 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
no no and NO regarding your whole argument for Pepsi.. you totally don't understand WHY people are against the pepsi ad... people don't want these fucking corporations to MONETIZE on social issues.. that's the simplest way I can put this... if you can't understand it, then there's no hope and you shouldn't talk about it
@RebeccaJ720 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I kinda feel these hosts are speaking as white people. Now before you guys attack me and call me racist, bitch please. That's not necessarily a bad thing entirely, I'm also half white myself so chill. However the issue with that is, of course they didn't see the Pepsi commercial as a bad thing the first time watching it. Because they can't relate as being racial minorities. I could be wrong but whatever, my opinion, my theory. I'm not saying all whites in general aren't able to understand though. I'm aware we have allies.
@mihlalivezi6031 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Honestly soo annoyed by this lady. This is an ad. It does nothing for any social justice movement (unless Pepsi somehow uses their revenue to raise awareness etc - lol doubt that very much). Stop whitesplaining and acknowledge to why people are upset!
@Riya-ju8zp September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Another Taylor Swift album....Time to leave the world and go to Mars...
@audriemahoney575 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
It's just a cheesy ad get over it!!!!
@heether2936 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Their intentions were money. That's their only intent for the commercial. Don't think it's anything else guys.
@OnlyANickel September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
The fact that you don't know what stupefying means or how to pronounce it is a little bit hilarious.
@Allyshears September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Girl you got Hot Roots [your roots are lighter than the rest of your hair].
You remind me of the catch me outside girl.
@zerimaraicirtap322 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I think Pepsi chose the wrong person for the commercial to focus on. Seeing the BLM movement starring a Kardashian , who has never spoken out or who can even understand the struggle, would definitely rub people the wrong way.
@gabrieladevecchis813 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Hey Erin, love you but i dont think pepsi missed the mark by just a little bit. They used Kendall Jenner, a priviledged woman, who comes from a wealthy family, and who currently makes millions of dolllars by being a model. She in no way(that I know of) represents anything other than superficiality and materialism, and pepsi using her in an ad that means to carry such a heavy message is just of poor taste. And we all know pepsi only chose her because she is famous, and so this way they get more money and attention.
@NaturallyBeautifulN September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Yeah, I'm unsubscribing. They missed the point. Still don't want a Pepsi.
@alexg4928 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
You may need a break from her Ryland but not everyone. I love hearing everyday about her, if you need a break, simply don't read Taylor Swift News anymore.
@lifeisgoodyehet7617 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
maybe taylor is not that good of a person but you can't deny the fact that her songs are so good
@amaiagarcia9802 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
The fact that Erin is basically being that people are getting too sensitive abt this ad just shows how little she knows about the meaning of protesting. Being in a protest is not like being in a music festival, and the fact that Pepsi so wrongfully represented it was very insensitive especially with all the protests going on in the past years for very serious causes. The Pepsi ad was a result of a white washed team that was oblivious to the real environment of a protest, and sorry Erin but I wouldn't be surprised if you were on that team.
@JMBBrasil September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Uau! They really are stupid and naive.
@Karliux777ful September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Erin... you're soon clueless. Read more girl! Perhaps that will increase your critical thinking skills ;-)
@Chloe-tu6sj September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I think the message Pepsi sent was rather screwed up. I like Kendall but I don't understand why she would do this. It is the sort of thing that seems like a good idea in theory but comes across in a negative, offensive and unrealistic manor.
@kayleepine1199 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Taylor Swift is my favorite celebrity
@sarahasgodom300 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
Clever hire more people of colour! You guys just sound dumb when you try to explain race problems that are happening in the US.
@Jupitersflame September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
The white girl needs to shut up. I HATE all of her responses to real life situations
@chloe3536 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
people are so overreacting on the ad I mean everybody loves Pepsi and most likely everyone that was hating the ad wants unity... so Pepsi is good, unity is good, but I guess people have a serious problem with them together!
@Olivia-uf5is September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
honestly i don't understand why everyone is hating Kendall for this ad. I know that some people just dislike that family for their own reasons, but at the end of the day, Kendall was just doing her job. She was modeling and acting for the ad, and got paid. If anyone should get criticized, it should be the writer and director of the ad.
@shaylafarrell6283 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
I think everyone is overreacting about the Pepsi ad. I see nothing wrong... As a person of a different race, I. am not offended or upset. I honestly don't get the backlash. The only thing confusing to me is why they were cheering at the end, but that's not angering. People are so touchy and sensitive today 🙄
@beautyblushx9366 September 12, 2024 - 7:53 am
No one is overreacting. Pepsi and every single person who worked on that commercial knew exactly the dangerous water they were entering into. With all the riots and marches and with everything happening with BLM and police brutality, that is extremely tasteless for them to even consider doing a commercial like that. Kendall Jenner doesn't deserve an apology. She knew what the hell she was doing. The commercial did, however, show me that white privilege is still going strong and ending riots is as simple as handing officers cans of carbonated sugar :)
