Another two great takeaways is the fact that hutch looked dominant and beating a playoff team early means we hold that tiebreaker over them for seeding purposes if it comes to that. Stafford did a spectacular job of getting the ball out of his hand immediately which gave hutch no time to work. Even with that hutch was a half sec away from getting a sack on a lot of plays. Any qb that holds the ball hall against us too long is gunna get killed by hutch this year

People complaining that the Lions played a C- game but every game I saw across the league looked like C- because THE STARTERS DON'T PLAY THE OFF SEASON so their first 3 games look like trash.

I felt like the Lions got a fortunate W and have a lot of work to do to get ready for the Bucs. Detroit's running game was impressive, but why does this team fail to score points in the second half? 3 points again until overtime. I know this team will get better.

Please explain to Chris, the guy's name is not Matt, he is a Matthew. You got it right. Only people who have not been corrected yet call him Matt. His name, - as he introduces himself, and prefers to go by- is Matthew Stafford. His mom will correct people too. Matthew prefers his real name and not the name people believe he should be called, and he's too nice to correct people. The announcers started to get it right just before the Lions traded him. The guy was in Detroit for over a decade and his hometown support couldn't even get it corrected. Look into it if you don't believe me. Might sound strange, but it's the truth. Always was. And I still love the dude, and he should probably be considered a top 20 all-time QB without question-to those with eyes to see and ears to hear. That said, Goooo Lions!

1 report stuck to me during preseason and that was our offense was struggling and watching the game i seen it but by week 3 at the latest we will be good.

This happens in football and it's week 1 St Brown will get his touches as the season goes on this ain't nothing to worry about. Got alot more football to play and things will change.

A great point is the first team defense and offense did not play in the preseason. The first 20 minutes were basically preseason, with first game of the season flare.

Detroit needs to be aggressive like they were in OT, they play like that the run game isn’t stopped. I know it’s the first game but it felt like they played lethargic

It wasn't as cool as Week 1 against the Chiefs last year. The world stopped and was like what?! This year we definitely have more talent, but the chemistry within the team needs more time.

Goff is still getting used to Jamo’s speed. That and the fact that Goff didn’t want to overthrow Jamo and miss out on the the WIDE OPEN receiver are why he underthrew Jamo on that TD.

Defenses bracketed C.J. for years as well. Or they'd assign a third guy to come over and knock his block off. Stafford threw balls up in the wrong spots to guys coming across the middle and they'd have to take their eyes off of in the direct front of them. Goff doesn't do that to his receivers.
