Sadly, on rare occasions sporting events cause fans a great deal of grief, as famous athletes meet their unfortunate ends in accidents, or when their bodies fail them in tragic ways. Whatever the case, these are some of the saddest events in sporting history, and we’re still able to watch the last moments these competitors spent alive and breathing. Rest in Peace

@taramco1110 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

My dad was one of the most senior pilots at Kalitta Air at the time Scott died in that race. It was tragic. And it obviously affected his father, a retired racer, profoundly.

@jacekatalakis8316 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Kalitta's crash was, thankfully a quartr mile away. NHRA went and slowed the cars, shortened the run and screwed over track owners. THey want to run a full quarter mile? Can't ithe NHRA pros show up, they have to run 1000 ft

@Ratt2004 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Owens death was sad as a fan, & now moreso looking back at the whole mindset of the WWE continuing the show just to commit to that gate $$ instead of saying 'sorry, he's dead, the rest of the matches will go down elsewhere at a different time'

Dale Sr truly got to me, was a big fan as a kid. NASCAR's old regime went with him, still a fan, but hasn't been the same since.

Driving a car doesn't make you an athlete

Ayrton Senna is the GOAT… he was an amazing driver even more so a fantastic man who took care of his own people!

@jonathanfunnell4167 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

@martinreinhart8483 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Owen Hart death was cought on live tv how they said that it was not

@Ricky_Baldy September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Ayrton Senna is FAR from the only driver to die in the F1 world championship. Senna was even the only driver to die the weekend he died. Roland Ratzenberger also died at Imola that weekend

@superdavid002 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Others, many others in racing and boxing as well as baseball player killed by pitch in 1920, luger killed in 2010 Olympics, Adam Petty, and some hockey players died of injuries.

@yaninaayalaherrera8956 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Ayrton Senna wasn't the only F1 driver to die during a Grand Prix. Over 20 drivers have died during the GP and over 50 i between race and practice/ qualifying
Ayrton Senna wasn't even the only F1 driver to die during that weekend at Imola, Ronald Ratzenberger had died the previous day during qualifying.

I didn't watch the Over The Edge pay per view I heard about it on RAW I was shocked since just two years before the Hart Foundation wrestling stable lost another member Brian Pillman . Rest Well all sportmen and women who have given us years of athleticism and entertainment .

@robertclark2253 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Not only are the sportsmen and women in danger but sometimes the fans themselves in the 1970's 60 fans were crushed in a stampede during a Glasgow Celtic vs Glasgow Rangers soccer game at Rangers' home stadium Ibrox . A similar more famous incident happened during the 1989 FA Cup semi final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at neutral ground Hillsborough 92 died that day and 4 more died later . I had a ticket to the match but couldn't go due to bus and train schedules but I did attend a memorial service held at Liverpools home stadium Anfield days later. The stadium was full of flowers and other tributes especially at the Bill Shankly entrance gate . After the service was over the whole crowd joined in an impromptu and rather haunting rendition of the Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone never heard anything like it before or since .

The PPV did catch Owen Heart's fall, but they cut the feed right away. WWE had only a second or two delay for live TV, those who were taping the event caught it. I know a lot of people who have it. And have seen it for myself. It's not front and center on the feed, but it was broadcasted… They now have like a 30 delay in case

@kimberlynaramore2921 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

RIP
To all of these LEGENDS.

@Ziton98 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

That is definitely not how Earnharts crash happened. He was making a block so his son had a chance to win.

@shaunbaseby2981 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

You forgot Phil Hughes who was killed by a cricket ball and ex F1 driver Dennis Hume from new Zealand died while racing at the Bathurst 1000

You are just like Watch Mojo Australia is generally forgotten

@b_side8669 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

I remembered when dale died I saw it on tv then they announced his passing later that night so sad & Owen passed I ordered that ppv then Ross said he died I remembered the raw the night after the tribute show

@chuckfinley4757 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Anyone else cringe every time she mispronounces Kalitta's name?

@steve-o4153 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

RAISE HELL PRAISE DALE

@jvanhest September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Another racer that passed away during a race was Indy Car driver Dan Weldon. Very tragic.😢

@Psypher September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Uh. Who wants to tell her that Senna isn't the only driver to die at a grand prix. Ironically enough two drivers died at that race. Senna and Roland Ratzenberger died on the same weekend running in the same event. Not to mention the 60's, 70's and 80's frequently had drivers die. Almost every weekend. The track F1 just went to (Zandvoort) is well know for a man burning to death mid race. They stopped racing in Zandvoort for 38 years due to that incident.

@bbeen40 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Wrestling is not fake, it's scripted.
There's a difference.

@marcolaskey9960 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Bitxh he didn't lose control… Sterling Marlin wrecked him… get it right…

@wht-rabt-obj September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

If you know you have a heart condition and you have medication for said condition, yet refuse to continue your medication…sorry, but I don't feel bad for you. It's your own fault. I feel bad for your mom and family, but you did that to yourself. And your family.

@aixaburlison4 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

He was wearing his seat belt incorrectly

@doomusrlc September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

0:21 uh… had yet to win THAT race… he had a TON of wins there otherwise

@dmoney668 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

RIP respect

@mr.baseball7223 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

The death of Ayrton Senna broke my heart. He was such a kind soul and a selfless charitable man

@JasonConlan75 September 10, 2024 - 10:46 am

Tom Pryce died on the tracks during the South African Grand Prix in Kyalami on 5 March 1977 so please do some research as did Jim Clark.
