In 5 or 7 years, this decade will be defined by some new sound. Trap can't be the face of rap forever. And 15 years after that? We'll hear the same thing about that era of rap.
The optics are twisted when a 50 year old is reciting 20 year Olds. I've accepted a little while back, I'm probably not going to listen to much post 2017ish. It's recycled. It's the same. It's what the new era wants. So, let them have it.
Whatever you want to listen to? There's so much out there, you'll find it.
A lot of dope producers are sometimes “forced” to do a style/ copy a trend, which creates the feedback loop as much as the artist that prefer that “sound” over another.
