British independent films are the bollox, Malice in Wonderland and City Rats are another pair of belters, these movies will stand the test of time and beyond, 📚🎥👌❤️

If you're talking gritty then London To Brighton should be in there. Perhaps not quintessentially a gangster film but a London gangster played a key role in it. Get Carter should definitely be number one and Craig Fairbrass's Pat Tate portrayal makes him the most dangerous to be around methinks.

@rosemaryfarell5264 September 6, 2024 - 10:42 pm

The First Doctor in Brighton Rock as a Gangster is class. Great film.

@tlnkj1910 September 6, 2024 - 10:42 pm

Rise of the foot soldier my mums friend his uncle was actually one of them lads in real life not the film

@dannymiles6503 September 6, 2024 - 10:42 pm

I love them all and i feel Rock n Rolla is a great film and after seeing Legend around a dozen times, theres many great parts of that film. Get Carter could be tops too. The master Michael Caine, one of the true greats that was made for that role.

If you haven't seen all these movies, don't watch this, spoilers left right and centre. In Bruges is surely an honourable mention to get comments, it's an A grade movie and definitely no need to include Rise of the Footsoldier if you have In Bruges.

@maxbeale8186 September 6, 2024 - 10:42 pm

I love a good British Gangster film 👌🏻

@stevegordon2032 September 6, 2024 - 10:42 pm

Not saying it’s the greatest ever but Layer Cake had everything a film should have. Just brilliant.
