I love the PC Engine (and by extension the TurboGrafx 16) so it’s time for a series on this retro gaming beast of a console! Because whether you use the MiSTer FPGA Pc Engine core, real PC Engine hardware or something like Mednafen emulation…there is a ton of fun to be had! Like Gotzendiener, one of the most obscure PC Engine games of all time and one of the best PC Engine games of all time if you are into rare retro games! It’s a best retro games candidate if there ever was one as far as obscurity goes! Hudson Soft and NEC knew what they were doing with this console that took on Nintendo and Sega and almost won!

Gotzendiener is an isometric 2D action platformer on PC Engine wrapped up in an adventure game and a puzzle game…which are three of my favorite genres! it’s a retro gaming hidden gem for sure! plus you have a MiSTer FPGA core for it and MiSTer FPGA alternatives in the form of PC Engine emulation / TurboGrafx 16 emulation

To show! This game is just awesome! I actually have the real physical copy! Good stuff brother! As always!
It only came in Japan, though. But it seems to be playable to foreigners with little text seen.
Kick Ass Assasination Backstab Metal Gear Prince Of Persia Espionage Game
The PC Engine is what the Mega CD should have been about.
I always wished they'd made more games using the Landstalker engine on the genesis. I never expected too see a similar game on the PC Engine no less.
The perspective can be hard to get but I feel this viewpoint makes for a look that seems beyond what these consoles could do.
