A family with a twisted secret.
This film is honestly one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen. I’m not too sure what was going through Ari Aster’s head when he made this. I’m a little concerned (kidding…a little), but I admire the bravery it must’ve took to make this idea into an actual piece of work.

Don't watch it.
I'm disappointed everyone hyped this up so much that it was so wild and like yeah if it was real it would be but the whole story could have been made by a middle schooler trying to be edgy and especially with modern standards it's not "so crazy" either
this really was disturbing and I bet it happens all the time😮
Live action booty warrior
Nice try diddy
Who would make a film like this a disturbed person to me 😵💫
Why his father cant punch or kick his son?
This movie is so disturbing but when you realize this is a satire for actually sexual abuse between parent and child and if you switch the roles, this becomes horrifying.
I really hate when . Women try to justify wrong doing of another woman. Just reverse the role of father with mother try to say or think the same thing. I dare you .
This movie is sick
its gross cuz every member of the fam inc the Dad for not standing up for himself w the power dynamic OF BEING THE DAD and then the Mom couldve only redeemed herself if she didnt burn the manuscript and sent it in then offed herself tbh but she did the opp ffs
*what happens when u think of a twist THEN write a story, realize its so hard to believe its gotta be a 'short film' and then you get this*
the twist is extreme but is also very hard to believe considering the power dynamics and general psychology etc obv thats why the implication early on is that the DAD is the creep IMO they just thought of the twist first then built a flimsy story about it, It would NEVER work as a movie cuz everyone would be like 'why tf doesnt the Dad just SAY OR DO SOMETHING!!'
also incest is a literal crime in many states so he coudlve reported him and if it started when the kid was underage then the DAD shouldve committed him to get mental help
HOT TAKE: The dad IS COMPLICIT – at any point he couldve shut that shit down adn sent him to counselling on the spot, instead he LET himself become the victim of a child that HE is responsible for because THEY ARE A FKING CHILD! but he doesnt handle it so it follows them into adulthood etc
Its a creepy super disturbing movie/twist but god damn the fact the dad let it go on SO long is on him too imo, obv if the son was the victim there would be a power dynamic at play but since when can a kid just flip the power dynamic against his own Dad in such a fked up way and his Dad (AND eventually Mom) go along with it?!
I remember this fuckin movie what the literal fuck was this supposed to be about. I was confused shock and rocked to the core. Dumbest movie I think I ever watched.
This film made me cry, and want to throw up @ the same time…😢😭🤢🤮

😂😂 who produced this😂
It's an Ari Aster film. Hence why it's so gross.
i find that i often see ari asters reasoning for making this movie being misconstrued as “he wanted to make a movie about the most fucked up, disturbing thing he could think of”. thats not what he said. aster set out to make a film that his school would not want him to make, to say the things they wouldnt want him to say. he wanted to find something so taboo that we didnt even realize it WAS taboo, because as a society, we just dont talk about it. and then he made a movie about a family Not Talking About It, that forces you to sit with the question that is the real reason he made this film: why cant we talk about it?
