2024 has been an incredibly good year for pop music. Not only for the quality coming from expected talent like Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish, but also new faces like Sabrina Carpenter and Shaboozey. So while this is a Top 10 ranking of this year’s summer hits, it’s really an acknowledgment and celebration of these songs and the cool things they’re doing.
(We Bring The Boom was robbed tho)

This might be one of the funniest videos you've ever released, every joke and transition had be cracking up
The puns are punning hard in this video
As a longtime Hozier fan, I'm STUNNED to hear he's back on the charts.
Sabrina Carpenter's song remind me of "Lovefool" by The Cardigans. Same key change, though the verse is A minor (the harmonic equivalent of C major).
Are people really confused by the song espresso? I thought it was a cool metaphor
the like in the vocals for "dark as a lake" hits my brain in the happy chemical spot. The same with the very subtle growl of "whatever devil's" in Please Please Please
I hate Tommy Richman his music just sounds bad
Deep DIscog Dive: The Wiggles
I think Beautiful Things sucks donkey farts! But I don't mind when people like a popular bad song cause it's like, wow, you experience joy that I never will… why would I take that away from you.
I work nightfill at a supermarket and I unfortunately know all these songs
Not like us is so goated I wanna whole vid talking abt the best moments from the song just bcs it’s so fun recapping how insanely hard Kendrick went while simultaneously being hilarious
No Charli or Chappell ?? Who wrote this list
where magbay?
Please please please is such an interesting song to me because it feels country and retro in a good mix
13:54 ☠
Wow your opinions couldn’t be more wrong lol
Good video tho
It's kinda sad that Billboard doesn't have a Global Song Of The Summer chart, but it seems like this year the top 10 on both the US and globally are kinda similar although with a kinda different song order:
1. Espresso
2. Birds Of A Feather
3. Please Please Please
4. A Bar Song (Typsy)
5. Not Like Us
6. I Had Some Help
7. Beautiful Things
8. Million Dollar Baby
9. Houdini
10. Gata Only
Only the last two are different, replacing Too Sweet and Lose Control (sad, because they're better songs)
ur good at this mr mic
10. It’s ok. Neither here nor there.
9. Gen Z Jason Mraz
8. Wow, Flyover country LOVES a YT boy doing R&B.
7 Who said Yacht Rock died?
6 Billie Eilish is the singer/songwriter the industry wants us to think Ed Sheeran is.
5. Nah dude, this is a random tiktoker having his 1hit wonder moment. Doesn’t matter how long he’s been working.
4. Americans LOVE a “Let’s Get Drunk together.” song.
3. I don’t get either of these artists’ appeal. They’re both thoroughly mediocre.
2. This is THEE song of the summer. It hits ALL the marks.
1. I stand corrected.
6:25 is the background sound from the ape escape ps2 game???
The Spotify ad has got these stuck in my head bad…and i still like them…
Sabrina's music is so clever. I would absolutely believe that she did the key change to support the lyrics. She plays with emotive musicality in her music enough that she even straight up references it in the chorus of 'Nonsense' ("Ooh, it feels so good I had to jump the octave")
This feels like 08 except in modern day. Great time for music of all genres is coming.
I am neither straight nor a man. I do not enjoy country music. I dislike Morgan Wallen. I have never listened to Post Malone before now.
…But I sure have listened to 'I Had Some Help' waaaay too many times lol
Song of the summer is obviously ”stupid (can’t run from the urge)” by underscores
the Tinashe snub..
Wish Who were on that list. I had it on a loop these past few weeks
The absolute SNUB of NOT EVEN MENTIONING The Spark!!
TW: M*RGAN W*LLEN AT NUMBER 3
Loved the video! I agree that it was a pretty great summer of music. My favorite song this summer was this song called “Calling After Me” by Wallows. A few pop stations played this one over the summer, and I wish it got bigger because it is catchy as hell. Highly recommend this track. Keep doing great things 🤙
No one mention that I had some help is just learning to fly by Tom Petty?
I need a separate video on Chappelle Roan now for compensation.
Juna – Clairo
The timing may be off as the album came to us in August and summer’s technically over. But I share your feelings about picking songs up because they’re popular and in regular rotation vs being algorithmically trending. I think if the timing doesn’t work out, Clairo autumn is bound to be in full swing soon enough, if it hasn’t already started
Die with a smile qualifies as a summer song and deserves on this list
This years pop music seems different. Like every song you mentioned is going to be nostalgic/memorable in ten years. Something pop music has been lacking for a while now.
hozier can really do no wrong what a man
As a gay man, that Post Malone/Morgan Wallen song is a big guilty pleasure I can't lie. The chorus is too much of an earworm for me to dismiss it.
Too Sweet is a cluttered, graceless mess of a song that's trying too desperately to be too many different things at once and succeeds at none of them, and the Post Malone country album is hot garbage with some generic awful songwriting in generic pop country packaging (with the last three tracks being exceptions).
Beyoncé?
9:35 well thats wildly disappointing. Sorry to hear that, sweetie.🍬
Is this the most hostile list Mic has ever done? Are they okay? Vibes here are so weird.
Sabrina Carpenter referenced the Nintendo Switch and Mountain Dew in a song. She just like me fr.
I've been one of the gay men in the comments 😂 It's only for admiration purpose
