I think they’re musicians themselves and they know what they want. Mostly young musicians who may have contracts with major labels

Cool vid but they should've hired someone to mix the audio. During multiple interviews the L and R channels were being used for micing separate individuals.

The "R" in A&R stands for "Revenue". It's never about the music. It's about picking ten rando acts, and bank on the 1 or 2 to make it big, then Ctrl+Alt+Del the rest. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, rinse and repeat.
