Primer and Coherence deserve honorable mention.

@user-yo9nn2pu2s August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Funny I have a band Shoehead. It is from a Zen Koan in Gateless Gate

@ArronSturgeonPaintings-so2xc August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

As a scifi nerd this lost is dog poo..

@clindholm9396 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

I’m late to the party, but for movies that examine our reactions to our ultimate demise, I would suggest “Last Night” from 1998 (director Don McKeller). The movie takes place over Earth’s last six hours.

@qmccall0328 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Contact is complete trash.

@alexvosloo1000 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Until The End Of The World is great if you have the 287 minutes to sit down

@goatrectum August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is #3. This channel just made it onto my "Do Not Recommend" list.

@shanemartin5070 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

The Man Who Fell to Earth. Maybe not top 10 but worth an honorable mention.

@natepierce5709 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

i. hate. your. channel.

@user-ne6gp4gn6x August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

@k_dee9168 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

No. No. No. Planet of the apes (1968)? The movie is so bad…

@aloksingh1296 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

i here to look over sci fiction not history ,,,,,………… fucking idiot admin

@aloksingh1296 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

list of bullshit

@DavidKfilmmaker August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Prestige? Sci fi?

@gecsus August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Nothing even mentioning Forbidden Planet. A spooky classic. I supposed most here have never seen it.

@saturnfive2073 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

This list is a joke, maybe this is some kind of politically correct list

@mknomad5 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

2001 – didn't see that coming 🙄 😁 lol just kidding, I concur. This is a great list, thank you!

@BCOMPLEXX August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

I agree, I liked Interstellar.

@mikekaraoke August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Should of at least done a top 30 science fiction films of all time!

@numbersix8919 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Zardoz, it's in the same category as 2001. Most people will object violently to including Zardoz in any list except "worst movies of all time."
But, if there are no superior intelligences to guide us in this universe, if it's all up to us, and we aren't up to the task, what's the way forward? Will Nature herself find a way?
When you watch Zardoz, as I know you will, and you see the highest civilization current humans can manage, you might see some trends that are familiar now. You'll realize that John Boorman is a genius.
When you see Sean Connery in his red boots and panties, you'll laugh. All it means is that for some reason Zed and his friends don't need to wear warm clothes even in a Scottish winter. They really don't need to. And their clothes are blood red because their main job is killing.
This is a movie that will make a lot of sense after the second of third viewing.

@Taffthat August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Any list that excludes Star Wars is wrong. Just all wrong

@brianfpp540 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

My top 3 would be Interstellaŕ, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and the original Time Machine with Rod Taylor. War of the Worlds, Day of the Triffids and The Thing would be part of a top ten also…the originals of course,no remakes and not the film that the Thing was based on that was called The Thing from Another Planet released in 1951. im 60 yrs old almost.

@siats142 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Imagine puting Her and not Jurassic Park

@Tone6372 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Glad Snowpiercer make it to this list, great film. Stalker is incredibly boring and over-rated. The industrial cinematography is amazing but there's nothing else going on.

@issi529 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

The Thing should have been in here. The Prestige was absolutely amazing btw.

@febostechnology August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Who is watching in 2024😂

@jeffwatkins352 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Just to reiterate…whatever quibbles I have with your other choices (where's Things to Come, Day the Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet?), 2001 is the #1 of all time, not bested even by the time of 2024. For my money, it remains the best film of all time. Love you, Charles Foster Kane, but Uncle Stanley nuked you.

@pererovira1469 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Finally someone recognizes '2001' as the best sci-fi film ever…!

@timsmith2525 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Sorry, I just noticed this video is six years old.

@timsmith2525 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

GATTACA!!!

@timsmith2525 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

"2001" has great spectacle and sound, but it is not a great sci-fi film.

@andrescastillo5606 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Almost the perfect list. Blade runner instead of The prestige. The prestige…for f sakes…..

@cressdiligent August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Whres bladerunner or alien etc. Bad list

@susanprice203 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Children of Men is one of my faves. Thank you for including this film. It’s good sci-fi because it’s totally plausible. We are headed to a dystopian future without doubt.

@danielwarner7572 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Would have to say I disagree with most of these picks.

@my2cents198 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

MATRIX …end of story

@my2cents198 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Yep gone with the wind is the best Sci Fi ever … you guys are total dicks

@HeadbangoO August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Hmm, that's more like "10 Movies to Watch After You've Sseen the Top 10 Science Fiction Films of All Time"

@tomerkritz August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Why the hell should I seek this info from IGN ? 😂😂😂

@clydeallen738 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

what the….!!!??? no Star Trek???

@daveflynn3397 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

#4 (authoritarian future) should have been Rollerball!

@debrarekart4778 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

The Road was a great film.

@maartenn2217 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

I love how your top-10's give me 30 movies to watch

@stealthhumor August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Genius, I tells Ya. It’s like withholding an Oscar nomination from Margo Robbie just to get people to yell and scream about how unfair it was. Great sci-fi films are the kind you want to watch over and over again and never get tired of them. Films like Predator, the Core, and Alien. Your grouping has half the films that nobody’s ever heard of and the other half nobody ever watched. (Not counting 2001). What meaning does life even have with no War of the Worlds, no Star Wars and no Avatar? None! It’s going to take some time for people to digest these picks and get some closure.

@Evasive2049 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Blade Runner..

@answerman9933 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

No "Blade Runner"?

@TheWWDproductions August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Not a single Star Trek movie mentioned anywhere in this video… shame.

@koneill1771 August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Snowpiercer? no. Contact? no. You picked Her over District 9 or Blade Runner? Some many hopeless picks.

@dukeon August 30, 2024 - 6:18 pm

Good pick with Metropolis! And the #1 pick, of course. But NOT #3… Ugh, not sci-fi imo. Well, maybe it is. Darn it! 😂
