PS2 version is real San Andreas, every other port or version just has less and less features from PS2
Still can't believe they ruined the LS atmosphere by doing away with the iconic orange sky.
PS2's orange light WASN'T there to "cover up the distant pop-in", it's there because it was the INTENDED atmosphere the game was giving to the player, the "distant pop-in" reason I read in the comments is 100% bullcrap, the reason it was removed in the PC version is because it used an advanced post-processing framebuffer effect that only PS2's architecture was capable doing that well at the time (because not every console was just "more" or "less" powerful as it is now, they were different and they had their own quirk) and it was very hard to bring it on higher resolutions, that is missing on the Xbox version (and all the others in the future) because it was a direct port from PC, it just was lost alongside a lot of other details we lost forever even in the most recent releases.
Am I saying that Xbox version is bad? No, but sure spreading misinformation about the game just because you enjoy a console over the other is bad, PS2 is not the most powerful console and we know that, but PS2 GTA SA is the original version and where the game was developed in the first place, everything that's present in the PS2 version is the original view that the developers had on how the game had to be played and how it was intended to look, we had 20 years of bad ports that tried to make us forgot what GTA SA's original visions by Rockstar was, let's not make the original vision of this game die.

That yellow haze is also what’s missing with todays Modern Warfare 3 compared to the OG MW3 from back in 2009. The maps feels empty and lifeless without it for some reason.

Jugue ambas versiones, a mi tambien me encanta el tono naranja de la ps2, fue la version que mas jugue ya que tuve la ps2 de chico, pero se le romantiza mucho cuando la version de xbox (y en general cada juego que se lanzo en paralelo entre xbox y ps2) es superior por bastante, en fin, xbox >>>> ps2.

Having played all the gtas on Xbox instead of ps2, my cousin had the ps2 version of San Andreas and it was unbearable and inferior in every way plus no custom soundtracks.😢
OG Xbox: anti aliasing, looks like PC version.
Ps2: No anti aliasing, but has amazing orange skybox filter.
I grew up with the OG Xbox port, I really liked it because it has the custom soundtrack feature.

Why was your ps2 so slow I think you need to look at that because I loaded mine the same time and it was on before the xbox so I think it depends what conditions the console is in to ps2 was the original and rockstar was going to only go with playstation but they would have had more selling for both but yh ps2 definitely kills xbox and any console of it's time I dont think people realise ps2 was the hardest emulator to get right as its parts was far more superior to any other console

I had it on both consoles and I will say the Xbox Version was better especially in terms of graphics but most importantly in terms of having my own music from the Xbox HDD playing in my car in GTA! It was brilliant for me personally! Best part of being 12 years old with an Xbox & a PS2 lol happy gaming ✌️

20 years later and ppl still cope that gta had better on xbox, truth is the orange sky is just one of the many graphical effects they just couldn't port out of PS2 and that's why it looks plain and simple in every other version, out of that xbox just had a few more trees and a higher resolution, doesn't really compensate
yeah xbox version had better graphics but i love the "mexico filter" in the ps2 version and trees looks betters in ps2 version
