As a person who readed 5 of the books the actors fit the charachters really well and a can remember some of the scenes in the book

when i was in middle school (which also happened to be during the height of diary of a wimpy kid popularity, specifically the books) some kids created the "notroxa touch" which was basically just everyone in my class refused to touch or get close to me
fun fact i had no idea about this until one day my teacher told me to go do my work in another class for a while. i was confused, but did as i was told, and after about 10 minutes one of my classmates came and brought me back to class. nobody told me what happened and i was super confused still, so i asked my friend in that class wtf happened
according to them the teacher chewed them all out for how horrible this joke was
imagine that, imagine being bullied so hard instead of the teacher pulling out the bully to talk to them directly, they pull out the victim so they can address the entire class

When you're kid, you think greg is right, but when you're older, you realize Rodrick was the most sane out of the family.
my father has worked at a middle school for over 25 years and he will tell you… those kids are interesting and its not for the faint of heart.

So weird that there were middle schools that weren't just 7th/8th grade honestly. It never made sense to me, 7th and 8th made sense together…but including 6th which is much closer to 5th, ya that makes zero sense.
So glad that Abecrombie and A.E. didn't exist until right when I graduated lol. Literally freshman year of college was when every bro had the 'popped collar' and complete head to toe A&F or AE. Remember also the whole 'faux hawk' obsession with dudes? and the 'pomp' with girls? That was everyone as far as the eye could see in college (2003-2006) and at work as well haha. In High School it was the spiked hair, and bleached tips haha. But in honesty I'd take those looks over the feminine hairstyles that men do like the ridiculous 'man-bun', ironic mullets (which also had it's place back then..but somehow less obnoxious), and the absurdly colored hair. You know what you were called if you had colored hair in High School? It's a 3 letter word and has 3/4 of the letters in the word 'dgaf'. People dying their hair that are WAY too old to be doing silly stuff like that never would have had the balls to do it back then (if they weren't like 4 or alive even). I was part of the 'punk' group in which 3 of the 9 of us had blue, red, or silver hair (me), and we joked around using the same word but with each other like any other normal kids, however of course people used it towards us unironically. You know what we did…fought back either verbally or eventually physically; what we DEFINITELY did not do was cry to our parents about it lol. That would've been some A-grade puss level way of handling people talking ish on us.

The message and how it portrays social status is peak. One thing I hated about this movie is just the main character just doesn't fucking learn from his mistakes. Next movie he's still a piece of shit to his friend using him only because he's the only one he gots and doesn't know how to apologize and very selfish.

Beat up the kids who don't wear American Eagle really resonated with me. I got a hand me down American Eagle shirt from my brother, wore it one time (this after wearing various shirts from steve and barrys like "Take pride in your Double Wide") and was immediately called out for it and i shit you not I started sweating so bad at that moment, I developed something called hyperhidrosis which is where you sweat uncontrollably all day and I had to basically become Robe from Max Keebles Big Move, where I wore the same Duke University hoodie for the next 2 years because I would immediately "pit out" my undershirt, shirt, and sometimes (who am i kidding, all the time) my hoodie. Fuck middle school. BTW I had 4 years of middle school, and i heard you say you barely survived 3 you lucky prick. But i can say i was popular in high school due to me being able to roast a kid faster than they could say hi, which i now feel bad about. But at least I didn't leave high school a virgin, even if she was rumored to have herpes, i never got it
