I remember the fallout from the Matrix with all these copy cat people thinking they could put on a dark trench and go shooting up the place. They were trying to say the movie caused these crimes, but the reality is how many people actually saw that film? Did they go off and buy a gun and a jacket and kill people, no they didn't. Someone who is mentally disturbed will still be so whether they see a movie or not. It may inspire some further madness in them, but one cannot prove that it was a film that caused them to kill and murder rather than the psychosis that already existed in them.

we should stop giving power to a birth of a nation (the old, racist one. not the new, awesome one ofc). i tried to watch it for historical purposes but i stopped after 3 minutes. then i skipped around and finally watched the ending. i am aware of the immeasurable pain this movie has caused. but like an abusive father who has withered in his old age, this movie is now weak and harmless. silly. a parody of itself. an embarrassment. so now, over 100 years later, watch it. laugh at it. make fun of it. make fun of how stupid people used to be. make fun of the moronic ideas. use it for humor and comedy. take its power away.

@dalepenney44 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Blair Witch was a comedy LOL
@jchow5966 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Napoleon Dynamite is still one of my favorite movies.
I remember when James Brady was injured - very sad and a good example why we need stronger security checks on potential gun owners.

Sometimes I think half of the actor's aren't human!!
@ATLmodK August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
The hostage crisis at B’nai Brith was not about a movie. It was about the sectarian divide between two Muslim groups in Washington, and the Islamophobia that continues to this day

Halloween ruined Michael Myer’s life

On the set of XxX (2002, Vin Diesel), a stuntman died.
@michaelkrolewski7406 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
I heard William Atherton from Ghostbusters say that that movie ruined his career. Lol 😆. There wasn't a bar he couldn't go into where someone didn't want to pick a fight with him.
@michaelkrolewski7406 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
I believe the movie Poltergeist ruined Heather O'Rourke's life as she died from a disease at a very young age. I don't believe it was a coincidence that she died after appearing in these horror movies. Also, the girl who played her sister was strangled to death by her boyfriend not long after the film was made.
@michaelkrolewski7406 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Although he experienced these unpleasant things, Jim Caviezel was very happy to have played Jesus Christ.
@tammylynnbeatricedoyle4500 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
There's other stories out there too 😢
@teresabolton1040 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Blair witch was the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen lol
@scottmandu8316 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Sour Grapes😮. The Michael Other and Erin Brockovich stories were agreed upon. You don't want attention? Don't agree
@WilAdams August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Birth of a Nation was NOT controversial at the time, indeed, at the time the film was held in such high regard that the democrat president had it screened in the White House. So, don't believe everything Watchmojo tells you.
@WilAdams August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Tippi was a liar. She was never approached by Hitch for sex. WHY do I say this? A) Hitch was married and there is NOTHING in the record to indicate that they were less than happy together. B) The time of Tippi's claims were AFTER Hitch's death so that he could not rebut her claims--we saw the same thing happen (at the same time) with the daughters of both Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Like those girls, TIppi was simply looking (some say begging) for attention and/or hoping to MINE more money by invoking the names of people far more prominent than they were.
@sdhartley74 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
I wish The Blind Side had stuck to Oher's real story, I'll bet that was inspiring enough on its own. I'm surprised the movie didn't require his permission and involvement, since it centered on his life.
@04279 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
I guess you can name the notorious "Jew Suess" from 1940, a horrifying antisemitic propaganda movie by Veit Harlan who not only ruined the careers of various actors (Ferdinand Marian, who played the lead was not allowed to play after the war until a few years before driving himself to death, Heinrich George, who was in many propaganda movies, was arrested by the USSR and died of hunger in soviet arrest and director Veit Harlan had a ban himself, before started working again in the 1950s) it also raised the hate for the Jewish population. The Jews were more humiliated and killed, especially since Reichspogromnacht in 1938. Writer Friedrich Knilli wrote in his Marian biography many stories how this movie affected the lives of many people in Germany on the personal note.
@adeep187 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
JarJAr was the worst thing in star wars by far, that was terrible. However I don't think thats the actors fault, thats the writers and director etc.

If 20% of your income is affected by 2% loss, it's 0.4% of your total. How does that ruin your business.

People are weird I thought Jar Jar Binks was a funny comic relief. Also anybody who thought the Blair Witch Project was real is an idiot I was a teenager when I watched that and I knew it was fake

@ProggerstheFrog August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am

@annihilationgamingTM August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
You forgot to mention the late Heathe Ledger, playing the Joker is what led to his death. Of course the academy gives him the best Oscar posthumously, for dying while playing the Joker 🙄
I was not impressed with his Joker, he kept licking his "fake lips" he looked like he was constantly thirsty 🤣 in the words of Comic Book Guy "Worst Joker Ever! " :/
@user-vr6sd3cr9p August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Like stephenie Meyer said! You can't please everyone. Sometimes a role will come out. That doesn't work for the actor or actress. Even the director. We will believe what we want to believe. It is sad about Tippie. Because of Alfred Hitchcock.
@stewartkee6115 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Horroe movies do not make people violent. Thats an excuse that criminals use in court.
@annihilationgamingTM August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Alfred Hitchcock
was obsessed with Tippi Hendren and literally "tortured" through out the filming of The Birds, and her movie career never recovered afterwards and he did all of this because she spurned his "sexual advances" towards him during the filming of The Birds 😠
@rdarbus August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
"Substance-use disorder"? Really? Does this bother anybody else, or is it just me?
@lynngatrell7965 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Yeah, well, that was the '70s. There are many movies since then that properly portray islam.

- Flight 93
- World Trade Center
- 13 Hours
- The Siege
- The Kingdom
- American Sniper
- Executive Decision
- Zero Dark Thirty

Take your pick.
In-shit-allah
@cejannuzi August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Really strains the concept of cause and effect.
@JeffNighswander August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Most of these are just people ruining their own lives. Don't blame the films.
@neildavis2999 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
Erin Brockovitch seems like she's just being a drama queen.
@chrisw1373 August 28, 2024 - 5:54 am
They should remake Genghis Khan with Pete Davidson.
