Another 'expert ' talking exploratory bites,sharks being curious and trying to give a Disney touch to predators...
When it comes to large sharks, the evidence is all there and it shows that they're opportunistic animals.
We might not be as tasty as a fatty seal but if they're hungry and we happen to be on their way , we're an easy meal and they won't just bite us but they'll fully consume us.
That's the case with the majority of large shark attacks.
@randomnessts August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
2:23 I love that she pulls out a hammer head model out of nowhere 😂
@will9001asd August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
See this dry bit of land where we have evolved to walk and live on? That's our bit.
See that large wet bit where sharks have evolved to live in? That's their bit.
You go into their bit, you gon get bit 🦈🦈

So, a hammerhead is basically a grocery store scanner. Interesting.
@Topper_Harley68 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
I would rather be killed by a vending machine than a shark. If there is a chance of sharks in the water i am staying far away.
@shadowsoulless6227 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
I have got to pet a shark before I think it was a nurse shark I remember it was in a big pet tank at an aquarium like they would have a different animal in that tank every couple of months they would swap them out so that people could touch them.
@shadowsoulless6227 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Shark babies gotta fight before birth
@alecmomenee-duprie2777 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
My dad used to be a shark embryologist! It’s great to hear her talk about sharks with the same passion my dad has when he talks about them. Makes me nostalgic for when my dad would tell me about his research when I was little!

The typing sounds while 'answering'. the questions are SO unpleasant
@Crabitat August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Jaws isn't based on a true story, but in 1916 there were several attacks on humans in the NE USA by a "rogue shark" and that story resembles Jaws a bit.
@kenctzen6575 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Sharks have scales?!?!
@CT-gl2zj August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
I think I just heard her on NPR this morning.
@user-ns8ex2bb9j August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Absolutely MAKES NO SENSE!!!
SHARKS DONT FEAR OR NOT KNOW US. WE R ON THE MENU. TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF APEX PREDATORS THAT SURVIVED THE JURRASIC PERIOD is HOGWASH. SHE KNOWS IT
@user-ns8ex2bb9j August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
U swim 5 kilometers of coastline 6 days a week ur 💯% more likely to be atracked by shark than me.
@user-ns8ex2bb9j August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Statistics can be whatever u want them to be. Its disingenuous to say ur more likely to be killed by toaster than shark attack. How many people u know dont have a toaster? How many sharks u pass in ur neighborhood? None. 6 billion people on earth not 1 lives underwater. Thats y shark attacks r rare.🙄
@user-ns8ex2bb9j August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
If ur in the ocean ur on the menu
@user-ns8ex2bb9j August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Y do yall lie about sharks?? Thats disinformation, its dishonest, & most importantly its DANGEROUS ☠️ .
THEY DONT MISTAKE US FOR SEALS.
@IrisGlowingBlue August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
"Tiger sharks routinely throw their stomach up" That's cool to know! And I'm not going to have nightmares about it
@viviancabeca1 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
she's incredible!
@j7ndominica051 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Can a given shark choose how she will give birth, or is it specific to a species?
@WitchyBridgey August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
Love this episode!! And love sharks so much! I do have a question/comment though. She says whale sharks can get up to 18 meters and then goes on to say “people will often say they get up to the length of a school bus- which is massive”
Maybe I’m misinterpreting this but the way these sentences are delivered makes it seem like they’re disproving or counteracting one another…
18 meters is near 60 feet, and the maximum length for a standard school bus is 13.7m/45 feet. Again I could be off here, but the delivery seems out of order? Maybe saying: people attribute the length of a whale shark to a school bus, but they can actually reach 5m/15 feet more than that— would be more impactful?

Such a fun and informative video!!
@ChrisPolg August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
That was really good
@trishnickles2236 August 27, 2024 - 11:59 am
I don't know what algorithm brought me to this series, but I'm extremely glad it did! I've watched about 10 of these so far, and they're excellent.

If you've not already watched her session, Dr. Dorsey Armstrong has an amazing lesson on the Middle Ages. There's also another about Ancient Egypt that very interesting. Love these! ❤
