I’m 17 and this is in my top ten favorite movies of all time. I wish more people my age knew about this movie, because it’s so smart, well-acted, well-directed, and is very funny but never undercuts the stakes.
4:25 LOOOLLL HAHSHAHAHA
NICE CUT.
bull shit
I've watched this scene many times and have never been able to figure out when and how Paul Newman switched cards. If any one knows, please post the answer.
8:28 😅😅😅😅
Little does he realize that after being broke as a poker player the con man will go into the shark catching business 😅
As good as it gets. I have no idea how many times I've watched this. It's my all-time favorite film.
"You owe me 15 grand pal" !!! I so love the way he delivers that line!!! 😂
So uhhh, where the fuck did he get the Jacks from?
Paul Newman and Robert Shaw; two GOAT head to head.
That 15 grand in today's dollars would be about $340,000.
How did they find that actor who looks like he dropped in, from comic book 📖 😅
Nice tie 👔 on Looonigan 🦆
I love this movie and this scene. But there are so many poker mistakes. String bets left and right. Less than min raises.
You can buy a vevor ice maker for onry 50 dorrars now. and have dah stinkiest chinese breff.
From beginning to end, this film should be taught in every film school in America. Writing, directing, acting, lighting, and cinematography are all excellent, and Paul Newman delivers a master class for acting students.
I don't understand how four threes turned into four Jacks
A great classic with an incredible cast.
That quick cutaway to penniless hobos sitting by a fire….GENIUS MOMENT!
Imagine if Clayton piped up "Hey, I thought I folded a Jack!"
And Linaman is probably the moliest faced bastard in Hollywood history. Probably more than anyone's ever seen.
Can you please change the title of this? It’s always bothered the hell out of me. Lonnegan is a GANGSTER, not a CON MAN. That distinction is practically the whole point of the film. The con men don’t kill people. Their ultimate goal is to steal your shit without them ever knowing you stole it. Gangsters, as Kid Twist says, “kill for pride” and are “vindictive as hell.”
The Sting: One of the greatest movies ever made.
I miss Paul Newman. He was the best.
You owe me 15 grand PAL 😁
The fire burning with the train passing by… you just don't see those kind of subtle touches of analogy these days.
Wonder what the other players thought about those goons being present.
How did 4 3's become 4 jacks
🤣 That's about how the 2020 election went, Trump tried to cheat again….got out cheated!
absolute classic seen it tons of times still gets me excited watching the gambling scenes even though i know the outcome
Yesterday was the day I finally realized Lorraine Newman is his sister…hope I spelled her first name correctly. Cheers
WHERE IS MY WHODINI
Hollywood sucks ass
My favorite movie mon it crucial
I saw this as a kid with my family at the Akron Civic Theater. (photos online) It was a great movie. Still love it after all these years.
Newman didn't "Con a Con Man." He Conned a gangster.
