The BURTONVERSE Theory: Are ALL Tim Burton Movies Connected?

The Burtonverse is one of the most talked-about movie theories out there. But how much truth is there to it? Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/ho3Hg6

Tim Burton is one of the most notable directors, writers and producers in the world today. His style is incredibly unique and distinctive – you can spot one of his movies from a mile away – and his catalogue includes offerings ranging from Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands to Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie. Intriguingly, some fans have theorised that all of Burton’s original movies are connected and do, in fact, exist in the same universe (note that this theory does NOT include movies that weren’t Burton originals – so there will be no mention of the Batman movies, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sleepy Hollow, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland or Planet of the Apes, for example). In this video, we’ll delve a lot deeper into that theory. The full list of movies that will be included here are Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Frankenweenie, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Vincent, while some of the characters who’ll be getting mentioned include the dogs Sparky, Zero and Scraps, Sally, two different Victors, Dr. Finkelstein, Mr. Burgermeister, Finis Everglot, Lydia Deetz and Jack Skellington. We really want to know what you think about this theory – did Tim Burton really plot all of this over the course of a thirty+ year period? – so make sure you leave a comment in the relevant section below the video once you’ve watched it! @Matthew-kj8vz August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Maybe corps bride is a prequel to Frankinwennie and that explains how he can come back to life
@TheMadcap919 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
5:33 if we’re looking in the lenses of this theory (which is not a theory I believe in.) I honestly could imagine her becoming Esmerelda (the crazy, religious lady in Edward Scissorhands who said that Edward was the spawn of satan).

Like I said, I don’t believe in this theory, but I think if it were true, it would make more sense for her to become Esmerelda, since Esmerelda is kinda shown to be an outcast.

I know im 5 years late but Sally is a ragdoll from the realm of dreams. Doctor finkelstein abducted her and brought her back to Halloween closing off all other realms but the ones we see in the movie. Theres hundreds of trees with doors deeper into the Hinterlands.

And its cannon to NBC
@vebtinkerbellable August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Yes I am convinced. And Nmbc.... Oggie booty is beetlejuice.
@Katkatkay August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Actually I don’t think the Sally one is true because Dr. Finkelstein collected different parts of people and sold them together she isn’t all one human she is many of them but maybe some of the body parts actually are connected to that but I still don’t think it’s true my opinion no hate
@rileycross4359 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
What this...tim burton universe does a scare childhood weird.
@justincontreras3842 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Almost everything you said bothers me most of these films take place in the 20th century old Victor is from hundreds of years ago frankenweenie Victor is from modern day Jack skeleton has been in Halloween Town for a very long time and when he visited the outside world it looked like it was the late 80s unless Victor has the ability to travel through time your theory is completely debunked so none of the characters that you mentioned are related in any way to any of the characters in Halloween Town because the creatures of halloweentown are representations of fear also your theory about the girl that was dug up being Sally is also completely wrong if you read more books you would know Sally has her own origin story she's not even from halloweentown

James and the giant peach, nightmare before Christmas Coraline
@matthewquimby2070 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
The issue with only comparing characters that look alike is the fact that considering they came from the same person, obviously, the art style and characters might look similar
@cool_vidmaker37 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
I saw 6 beetlejuice
@lilhedgehog8576 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
I think the victor from Frankenweenie is Victor from the corpse bride great great great grandson or some sort of descendent because Frankenweenie takes place in modern times the corpse bride takes place in the Victorian age.
@TheKattman1 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Vincent is Vincent Price in Edward scissor hands. He tries to recreate life one more time. He makes Edward in his own image even.
@CombustableLemon August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
I don't think they're the same person, but I do think they are in the same family. Jack -> Victor Van Dort -> Victor (so maybe they went from america to britain to america again)
@duh_matos_ August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
u guys forgot Vincent apperance in beetlejuice television cartoon where he propouses lydia (spoiler, she sticks with bettlejuice instead). And theres a line in corpse bride where Victors name is changed to Vincent. Its about a guy Vincent who likes science and had a dog, he became king of niddle land (the land of the dead/halloween town) and only achive true love once got married. Skinny guy with a dog a bride and dead people in the underwolrd are the similarities between the movies....we're actually seeing vincent life and afterdeath
@aliceingothicland August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
It's very interesting. It defenitely shows how Burton's brain works and what he goes back to.

@AdamfromKissimmee2005 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Idk about the victors being the same cuz victor from frankenweenie looks to be in the 1940s or 1950s in america while victor from corpse bride is in 1800s england

@edgardeitz2784 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Lydia wasn't adopted; she actually IS Charles Deetz's daughter (with his first wife RIP). The movie confirms that Delia is Chuckie's second wife.
@edgardeitz2784 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Wait; Tim Burton had something to do with "The Planet Of The Apes?!?!"

He didn’t connect them. Time periods and locations make no sense along with what happens in movies.
@marciwyrd8905 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Frankinweinie was written by Burton as a poem when he was in high school, I've got a really old copy of nightmare before Christmas that has an interview with him and a copy of the original poem.

Don't remember much of the interview but it was something along the lines of "my dog got hit by a car and I was sad. We had also just read Frankenstein in class."
@threewisemen69 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
None of this makes sense

How do you explain corps bride is clearly set well before frankinwenie? The time tines kinda mess this theory up
@michaelburns2003 August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
But the times are diffrent
@Gabrigattin August 16, 2024 - 1:12 pm
Totally ignoring the fact that Corpse Bride takes place in the Victorian Age..... Sure.... Also literally all of the arguments in this theory are forced af
