Colin Farrell opens up for the first time about life with his 20-year-old son, James, who has a rare debilitating disorder called Angelman syndrome and why he’s starting a foundation to help adult children with similar disabilities prepare for greater independence. The Colin Farrell Foundation will provide support for adult children who have intellectual disability through advocacy, education and innovative programs.

You never know what is truly happening in people’s lives until they let you in. This was a powerful interview with great promise to many other families going through similar situations. Bless Colin for his efforts and his foundation. I too have family and friends going through this similar situation.

I worked in DDS for 32 yrs these families deserve our greasiest respect and support respite care to maintain sanity this is a 24 hr / 7 days a week life ❤🎉exactly when they are 23 in USA all support is gone . All State facilities are closed where there were protected environments.❤

Because I am dependent on my parents for care, I am disabled and still live at home at the age of 27. Without them, I would be nothing, and it terrifies me to consider what will happen to me after they are gone. Colin's work is really important.

His dream of building a camp for families with kids with special needs is so good and a place like this is so important. That’s part of the work that children’s hospices do here in Germany. ❤
