India and Sri Lanka faced each other in the 3rd and final ODI at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka elected to bat first and posted 248 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Avishka Fernando shined with the bat with a brilliant 96-run knock. During the chase, India had a batting collapse and became all out for just 138 runs in 26.1 overs while Wellalage picked up a fifer. Sri Lanka won the match by a massive margin of 110 runs and sealed the ODI series 2 – 0.
