Anyone know if Crunch Fitness is woke?
I’m looking for an excuse to cancel hah

Nothing with woke works…

Woke people always shoving their face where nobody wants them

@esthetics4512 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Didn’t even know there was a thing called woke fitness

@Fucev August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

1776 shirt plus criticizing wokeness. I had a gut feeling from previous content that there was some right leaning, and I'm glad I wasn't wrong. 🇺🇲🇺🇲

@LAHowell August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

What do you mean “woke”? I guarantee I’m one of your furtherest left leaning listeners and I don’t see what’s “woke” about this person’s messaging. It’s simply incorrect…it’s just incorrect messaging. Does “woke” mean anything you don’t agree with? Or anything that isn’t inherently a conservative value or talking point? And also, what do you mean people who have a victim mentality complain and then don’t attempt to change anything or do anything about it? When people do advocate or do do things about it, you call them lazy and tell them they don’t have jobs and just rattle off talking points you heard on the conservative news channel instead of speaking to these people and trying to understand them in good faith. You stereotype them. The person you’re referring to is simply WRONG. That’s it. For a group of people who are always saying “keep politics out of x, y, and z.” you suuuure do like squeezing in political jabs whenever you get the opportunity. These “woke” problems in the fitness community aren’t even remotely as big of an issue as you’re painting them. I assure you, people like me on the left love fitness just as much as you do. The fitness community has ALWAYS had in-fighting. Look at BioLayne. He calls people out from the random person on Twitter to other self-proclaimed experts. Conflicting information being presented has been up front and center in the fitness community since day 1. The person is wrong. End of story. Stop making assumptions about people and the ideological groups you believe they belong to.

@TheBox225 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

I don't think it is the majority, or even close. I think it is the loudest of the minority. If you think the gym is judgemental, then you should try to go to a church (don't recommend that, you can get more from the gym).

@brianbergmusic5288 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

"Woke" anything is like taking a bottle of cancer-pills.

"Educated" doesn't mean much anymore. These days is CAN mean someone that appeased armies of Karen's and muppets. It doesn't always mean: scholarly and able to use objective facts to solve problems or discern outcomes.

@patrickgarvey146 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Nothing "woke" works.

@piscinaiv7937 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

It's also an attack on maleness (toxic masculinity). The woke brigade has already hit a lot of traditional male hobbies and interests and have ruined entire franchises and hurt many more–all for their political agenda. The destruction is the goal; they don't care about these hobbies and spaces in any positive light whatsoever as the 'woke' want them gone entirely.

@alexcruzship3683 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

We stay strong together. Fook the “woke” people

@easter_sunday August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

"Woke" just doesn't work, period.

@deathray3909 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

I am so thankful for the gym, the last place that will be forever safe from woke bullsh*t

@michaelfeeney9147 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

I get so much motivation from seeing people who are out to shape at the gym because I know they are pushing themselves to be better and are uncomfortable but are overcoming that to accomplish their goal. I respect the shit out that and it always gets my mindset right. All love

@Mygoalisfitness August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

These people need to be honest with themselves. Either you care about ur appearance, ur heal, ur mobility, ur body overall, or you don’t. If you do care there are things u can not do like eat fast food every day or chug sugary drinks. You control ur self with the food and have a active life and workout 2 to 3 times a week and ull be good to go but if don’t care to put the effort because ure too lazy than fine but don’t play the victim and pretend that is not ur way of life that is keeping u fat.

@joeford5181 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Reading that Twit made me laugh. Want a comparison, encouraging a man with suicidal tendencies to jump the bridge

Marxism seeks to ruin all Western Civilization through weakening us via insanity i.e. Intersectional Feminism, CRT, LGBTQAAIPPZ+ IDpol, etc.

@plainseed August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Woke anything never works

@lotleo987 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

I know this wasn't the main point of the vid but to address "the gym is an accepting place " hard no. I think group classes like boot camp and stuff definitely leans more accepting. But like, fitness 24/7 or LA fitness type places. No way. I'm in people's way and the way people let me know is grunts, passive aggressive statements, or telling me directly. (Honestly people telling me directly makes me feel the most comfortable.) Like, yea I dont know what I'm doing here either, thanks for letting me know u don't want me here.

Fortunately I found crossfit which is so accepting some label it cultish lol. Down from 310 to 240.

I could be wrong. Willing to accept my experience is a 1 off. I just doubt it with hearing similar stories from others. This is my first time watching this channel, but I gauge that these guys are more objective and thoughtful about the gym. They probably gravitate towards like-minded. This would probably skew their understanding of how accepting or not the gym is vs an actual obese person trying for the tenth time to get some consistency at a gym.

@josephwoodard9472 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Weighed 310 at one point in my life. Lost over 100 pds. Primal

@davidback2144 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

"Revenge Culture". That encapsulates it nicely

@Raiders108 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Why is he correlating being "woke" with this comment? I feel like being "woke" has been taking out of context and has been made to something its not. Being woke was initially intended to mean being in a higher state of consciousness Now it just gets tied into anything that sounds like nonsense.

@samueljamerson1072 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

The people who advocate for the victim mentality, NEVER comes from a good place or an earnest heart. These people are first and foremost "marxsist" that have the goal of ushering in their communnist untopia. The guy wearing the 1776 shirt laid it out excellently, they're in every space, or trying to infiltrate them with the plan to take them over kick out the dissentients to further there goals. Great video really lays out whats going on in the fittnes space and others.

@lordsneed9418 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

"woke fitness" is definitely going to grow in the next few years. It won't be like "yeah get fat everyone" but it will be stuff like women's-only classes being forced to allow men who claim to identify as women to join.

@daveblackwell4211 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

🦇

@DanIelGonzalez-up1xx August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

At some point, fitness stopped being about your own personal health and benefit and became filled with Who Vs Who and frowned on for the dumbest reasons presented by the dumbest people simply because they didnt and dont want to change giving them that "I am perfect how I am and there is no need to get better or grow to be better" Mentality.

@DB-xz1sb August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

This whole bullshit has to stop. If you are far/overweight/fluffy/puffy/obese you need tough love, you need to be called on your bullshit. This whole healthy any any weight is retarded. I used to weigh 95 KG when I was 25. I am 32 now, and I am fit. I look younger now than I used to look when I was fat. People need to accept they are weak and pathetic and start working hard on themselves.

@jgarza03 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

It’s funny how people give me sh!t about meal prepping and working out all the time yet I have never commented on some one else’s diet or body. Fitshaming is more prevalent than fatshaming.

@vohkaru131 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

The term 'woke' is so completely meaningless. It's just a way to either strawman or do some guilt-by-association nonsense to make your political views feel validated.

Anything to avoid rational thought or introspection, amirite?

@fryloc359 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

"If you are fat, it's impossible to get thin, but if you are a man, it's possible to be a woman." They are consistently inconsistent.

@joshuapoulin4909 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Check out the MSNBC op-ed about "online fitness promoting Fascism". No joke, they want us fat and incapable.

@wafflesmcgallagher934 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

The MPH is "Master of Public Health." She has a "Health degree" that actually is a sociology/ public policy degree

@NBDYSPCL August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

All obesity, as with any addiction, has a root cause in an unhealthy relationship with food. This can have a variety of myriad psychological and sociological reasons. But the HAES and BoPo advocate for MH in the laziest, most laissez-faire way ive ever seen.

In their worldview, people are at the mercy of their own minds, and everyone has to accommodate it. Rather than take ownership of their flaws or tragedies. Because this is very difficult and requites a fuck ton of hard work to work on. Its hard to look at yourself and be honestly critical without just running yourself down, especially as a depressive. But its never impossible.

People glorifying obesity that has MH causes is no different than if they were to glorify any other addict for their behaviours. Alcoholics, drug users etc. Or even the other way woth anorexia, Its ludicrous. Its Laziness to the nth degree.

@kimcorwin1705 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Woke fitness.. look no further than planet fitness..

@TaiNguyen-sj7xu August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

Going to the gym and lifting weights helped me with my depression.

@alexanderbohm607 August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

It's not the fitness industries fault that obesity still exists. It's the food industry. What the fitness industry is at fault for is hawking "supplements" to us in place of real food. The fitness industry "should" have been telling us for decades now how utterly broken our dilapidated food chain is. Google the carbohydrate economy. Carbs are cheaper to grow and can be processed in many various ways. Hence everything from the ground up is carb centric. We've lost our metabolic flexibility because of this economic imperative that's been forced on us. A relatively small number of people run "everything" in the food business and they do it with complete "willful" disregard for what human health comprises. Most people by 10 fucking am….have eaten more carbs than they can burn off for 2 days. The body adjusts to this over decades and makes us feel like shit if we don't eat every 3 hours. We're "ALL" insulin resistant to some extent or another….but most don't reach the level of insulin resistance that the medical community, who are fully complicit….labels as diabetic.

@509CCB August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

“MPH” usually signifies a masters degree in public health. Which is even more scary. This lady has a graduate degree in public health and still spouts that nonsense.

@Alacard0malley August 4, 2024 - 8:10 am

It's Marxist framing applied to body image. Fat people are cast as the oppressed class and fit people are cast as the oppressor class that needs to be subverted.
