I really, really need to upgrade……
I guess these are pretty cool if they are free but what worries me is if this is the trend for the future of paid games once we start to see unreal 5 roll out proper. Are we just going to get the same old games except now better graphics. And are they going to roll out every game we already own with new visuals but only now they'll be asking for £70?
I won't pay that sort of money for rehashed games. I was hoping to see a whole new approach and some innovation afforded by the improved technology. I can't help feeling like innovation has taken a back seat. The games I've seen so far , coming in the future all look like we'll disguised (admittedly) remakes. Like callisto protocol being basically dead space. A really new and different game when it came out all those years ago but now an oversaturated genre. 3rd person space horror type shooters. I'm really worried games are stagnating. And the chance to cash in on the new pricing is going to see a flood of poor remakes all hiding behind visually appealing shells, whilst core gameplay remains a tired and more and more boring gameplay loop.
I just hope I'm wrong and some real genuine new ideas appear.
You know, eventually they're going to have to stop calling it unreal engine and start calling it the reality engine.
They are really pushing this transhumanism robotic stuff. WEF
Just remember what you see is not what you get at retail.
