Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #29

Street Fighter: The Movie for the Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.

Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.

To save on space and time in the video, the score tallies and descriptions of how I got to the scores are listed here instead.

They are on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:

Story Accuracy to the Movie 4.5 out of 10
(Weird Movie Mode tries to tie things into the film with you taking on the role of Guile. But besides a few picture cap text based moments and some music here and there from the film there really isnt too much accuracy. Its just a digitized version of Street fighter and a poorer one at that..)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movies 5.5
(Some of the AVIs found within the game will indeed have the same exact music. So that is good. But that is where it ends, the stages are all generic music and background themes that have nothing to do with anything. There is a music video though from the soundtrack found on the game so that too relates well at least.

Game Difficulty 6.0
(Anyone that has played Street Fighter can jump right into this game no problem. Controls are the same as is the set up. Some of the Bison battles can be annoyingly difficult but for the most part the game wont offer too much of a challenge to the average player of Street Fighter)

Overall Fun 3.5
(The game just isnt that much fun. The Story Mode will get old fast and you can only enjoy playing a weaker port of a good game so many times in Arcade Mode. Basing a game on a bad movie version of a game is not the best idea to ever be done. The game isnt horrible but it just isnt that much fun and will get old fast especially with better Street Fighter options out there.)

Final Score: 4.25
Below Average

I have a request.
Please make an updated review of this game, elaborating more on some things and making it longer and more in-depth like your newer reviews. There are so few reviews of this game on YouTube, so i think it needs it.

@ModelJames13 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

The movie was great, but the best thing about the game is Kylie Minogue as Cammy. Meow!!

@LarroSTK August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Why not talk about the awful frames per minute.

@PubliusAfricanus August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Never sparked much interest? It's a bonafied cult classic now.

Love the song playing in the background. Very mid-'90s.

@boredstudent Agreed!!! A proper Chun-Li would of been beautiful looking but can fight and speak Cantonese and very good English. Even though Kristin Kreuk who played Chun-Li is hot in her own right, she's doesn't speak fluent Mandarin or Cantonese because she's mostly Canadian. Chun-Li's proper last name is Xiang. Not Hwang of Zang of the deSouza or Klein editions. If anyone would of played Chun-Li it would of been Brenda Song(a better fighter) .

@ericspowers August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Wrong.. No real star power? Ming-Na from Joy-Luck Club, Mulan and Stargate Universe was in this movie as well as Wes Studi from Dances with Wolves and Kylie Minogue, one of THE best pop icons in the world.

@clipsryan
It was PG-13, too. No reason she couldn't be in the outfit for the 90 seconds of screen time she gets during the final minutes.

Opportunity lost!

@boredstudent
In LOC they also spell it Xiang on the mom's tombstone.

@dinninuyo August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Both movie and it's based game sucks!!!
Damn the fucking USA. Cos Guile is not the SF leader but he's just another bastard mariner.

You should try the Arcade version, it's nothing like this

@Movies2GamesReviews August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Sure I'll add it to the list of suggestions. Thanks!

@Sbrff August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

i was born in 95 =)

@saiyajin11 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

And wow our recession needed 700 billion dollars. 20 billion is nothing.

@saiyajin11 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

At least it was better than The Legend of CHun Li.

@Tempora158 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

The characters look faded due to the lack of RAM on the consoles. If you look at the original character assets on the arcade version from Incredible Technologies, they have more color and are definitely clearer.

@Tempora158 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

More accurately, this is a game loosely based on an arcade game that is based on a movie based on a game. That's because Capcom's console Street Fighter movie game plays nothing like the arcade Street Fighter movie game from Incredible Technologies. The arcade version used English voice actors while the console version used Japanese voice actors.

@Airjet2582 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

They shouldve never casted that Belgian Martial artists actor, who can't even pull off a American Accent to play Guile. It sucks that this was Raul Julia's final role. He was awsome as Gomez Addam in the Addams Family movie.

@FSinWCR August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

Bison's the Antagonist, not Protagonist.

@Matthew6248 August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

I agree with you Snake0987, I'm glad I never played it.

@Xifihas August 2, 2024 - 7:34 pm

You gave this a much farer review than most people do.
