Eating Raoul is a great movie made by people who know how to make Low-budget films. It is a classic like Eraserhead and This is Spinal tap. It is one of the 70s style "Stick it to the Man films the current generation is afraid to make.

Naked Lunch is fucking wild! His son Brandon also makes incredibly weird and disturbing movies, a true worthy successor of his father's legacy!

Blood Simple? I just watched it again for the first time in, what, 30 years? It is barely a college film project. Cliche'd, predictable, and just not that good.

I was an extra in Naked Lunch. We filmed the Moroccan market scene on a film set in Toronto. I was dressed up as an American tourist (with a camera) and during takes/filming I would go from stall to stall asking for hashish and eating dates. We also filmed a scene where we were addicted to the Mugwump milk (or jizz) and could be seen greedily consuming the imaginary liquid. Some older women objected to this scene and were removed. We spent countless hours waiting to be filmed after costume/make-up. I made use of the time and read three books. The pay for non-union actors was minimal, as was the food that was provided. David Cronenberg did drop by the Mugwump set once to ask a woman how things were going.

Ah the old Skin-A-Max. Friday and Saturday nights had the "softcore porn" movies on. Shannon Whirry, Shannon Tweed, and other extremely talen... Gorgeous, Well-built, Naughty actresses would show off their talen..... Gifts and give Academy Award winning performances on how fake sex looks. There was an Asian actress, I can't remember her name though. Nguyen or something like that🤔? She was really hot! And in the latter half of the 70's, Sylvia Kristel, who starred in Emmanuel, and later as a Teacher in "Private School or some other name. As a teenage guy though, WOW!

Leaving Las Vegas Cages Children & Wife have Gone , I belive She took them & you are to have the impression they are not coming back ! This absolutely destroy' s him as a human being & he decides To drink himself to death ! No stopping & He will Not tolerate being asked to stop ! This plays huge into THE movies over all Themes ! You could not have watched the movie & missed that.

Great list! Seen them all. The only one I didn't like was Under The Skin, it just didn't work for me at all. Read the book after, much better, they should have stuck to that story!

I remember when this came out. It was playing here in Baltimore at a few little art house type spots and I was around 8 and the title alone had my 8 yr old mind so intrigued.
I never did see it but I will now!!

I apparently lived my whole life without seeingLeaving Las Vegas.’ I somehow conflated this film with ‘Raising Arizona.’

After watching "Naked Lunch" I remembered what somebody once said that to make a faithful adaptation of this wild book: " You would need a budget of $400 million and it would banned in every country in the world"
