Released in 2021, the updated Omega Seamaster 300 represents the brand’s full lean into the vintage-inspired game. If we were building a line graph to map out the trajectory of the vintage-inspired aesthetic, the Seamaster 300 might just be the peak. It’s as if Omega brass has been scrolling through Instagram to distill down what would make the perfect social media watch. Is this that watch?

Personally the true vintage 165.024 is the best and it’s not even that close
Not legible enough. That 165.024 next to it looks a million times better
Vintage "inspired" may be good for some, not for me. They're not vintage. I want and have the ones that did leave the factory 60 years ago. Waves my Heuer Carrera – 1960s one.
They should have kept the ceramic bezel…
Just get my sea master 300
It’s just elegant and make you want to always look at it
My everyday watch
Incredibly NOT informative video. 80% talking about fauxpatina and 20% talking about taking instagram photos. How about how it feels on the wrist, the thickness, the weight/comfort.
I wear my seamster 300 heritage more than my rolex watches. I love it
Vary Nice videos inspired
Panerai design Sandwich dial……. Leave it to Panerai
I have to say the '57 Trilogy, is the "Most Perfect" of dive watches! I came close to getting the 300. I did decide on the 2222.80. Bond, 36mm, Wave Dial, CoAxial. I would not trade it for all the money in the world (almost).
Love vintage watches and patina. But this looks cheap. At $6700 you would think you could get actual applied indices and a proper applied logo.
I get it, using cut outs in the dial and a faux patina luminous disk behind the dial gives some depth, but at the cheapest possible way forward from a production standpoint.
But to then turn around and charge such a premium for the watch that looks so cheap in comparison is why Omega stays at their current level.
I’ve seen micro brands do more at the $2500 price point.
As for the use of layers to achieve a beautiful effect, I’d look to Citizen and their Chronograph with the paper dial. The allied logo and name below (earlier 2018 model) is just a work of perfect simplicity and set within a titanium finished watch, it screams of a luxury and elegance that this watch just doesn’t deliver on.
Also, to compare this to a BB58 is a slap in the face to the 58, which, aside from the faux rivets is a waaaaaay better executed watch and value.
"Instagrammable" 😂 wtf
lol the man said TRITIUM! I suggest dusting off the old history and chemistry books!
Love this watch and definitely plan on owning one, just wonder if this specific Omega the Seamaster 300 heritage holds or increases it value over time? Do you wonderful people know if it does?
Why would you make a watch that’s that illegible? The whole point is to be able to read the time at a glance
No we like vintage watches because they used to design them correctly with the right proportions and everyone with flawless designs. Now a days not one company can get a single design or proportion correct even on their vintage designed pieces they still manage to screw it up. That’s why the only viable watch is the submariner because that’s the only watch the decided not to change 😂 and even still the one aesthetic change they made by making the dial and bezel gloss, makes the watch look much worse than it’s matte fore-bearers. The modern watch industry is a fools games where every vintage watch was stellar, but there’s not one right pick for a modern watch
Everything is better than the previous model and then omega had to go and create those sunken numerals making a non legible watch way less legible and completely ruining the looks. Oh omega can’t help but shoot yourself in the foot can you?
Very descriptive video
This video shows why this channel is not for watch enthusiasts, but instead for the most casual watch followers.
The technical sheet was missing at the end of the video
I bought mine in June ‘22 and it became my favorite watch , even over my Cartier Santos.
But now six months after, the lume markers on the bezel are coming off after a week in Mexico going in pools.
I would think that it would resist at least 1 meter underwater.
Very disappointed with omega quality.
I prefer white lume more. The "recreated aging lume" is weird in my opinion. Not sure it is a deal breaker though.
Love the watch but when u said "so Instagrammable" I threw up
Is anyone who have one have the bezel so loose? Local AD said all the 300 in different city have the same loose bezel. I just can’t believe the quality of the 300 bezel so loose.
I’m just not really a fan of having those sandwich numerals if it massively detracts from legibility which it looks like it does
Umm some logical fallacies here:
1) How is fauxtina less "functional" than just white lume? I get thats it's an "aestethic" excercise, but that doesn't mean it has less lume power or visability.
2) How can you say that Omega went all out vintage with this watch when its 41mm? Tudor actually made smaller cases sizes. Also, it has a display back, so… yeah… I don't omega has really dove deep into the vintage-inspired apart from dial design.
This is an aesthetic.A vibe.
I called Hodinkee today to buy a $7K watch and they hung up on me because I would not leave a message and wait for a "remote" person to call me back.
Make it 39mm and I'm in. Until then, nope.
Bit naff compared to the previous model that was far more authentic – this has bulbous vulnerable crystal, ugly lollypop second hand, & a very un-Omega Panerai numbers. Just a disappointment….
"Instagrammable" is a big negative in my opinion. I buy for me, never post posh watches online, it's those folks who are spoiling the hobby for the rest of us.
Omega get rid of patina for God s sake
The dial is a Panerai copy. So Omega copied another manufactures sandwich dial?
I bought the black dial with brown leather strap last year's Veteran's Day. Then I added the NATO to make it look like Spectre. Such a beautiful watch. And my second Omega
Talk more about the watch, & less about Instagram
