No it doesn't. 343 divided the fanbase with their decade-long history of garbage. They're going to divide it again with this decision. Video over.
This remake better give Gears E-Day trailer levels of quality and tone.
We need it like a hole in the head. If they mess up the story and or make it woke, they are going to lose most of whatever player base they have left. Pull a Disney 343 and see what happens.
343 stubbornly refuses to incorporate the iconic US Marine style military into its games, an aspect which is integral to the bones of what made Halo great. 343 under that useless bOnNiE rOsS woman entirely scrapped the military approach.
Comparing Xbox sales this generation isn't that straightforward. Many of us didn't upgrade this generation because a lot of the games are being made to play on legacy hardware. There isn't an incentive to buy a new Xbox when I can play all the games I currently do on my Xbox One.
Literally don’t need it at all. If Sony players want to play Halo, just get an old Xbox or Xbox 360. Wtf do they need to allocate all those resources to remake a game that’s already been made? Oh wait: money. Ha
All of us 90s kids want is just a Halo 3 remake. I don’t mind it going over to PlayStation.

They should stop focusing on the past and move forward.
At the very least, focus on a spin off game, or even add Infinite to PS since folks are already making remakes, and new "campaign experiences" and it's free to play, but i know they're not going to do that.
I will only play this if they make the whole Halo trilogy in the one game
So 343 industries will be outsourcing to Blur Studio and Saber Interactive again, and their incompetence destroyed Xbox, along with Microsoft's lack of due attention. They needed to remake Halo 4. Updating the UNSC faces for Halo 3 was all that was needed–although I have some issues with cut content and the abbreviated story. Halo 4 was not a good story–it was a ripoff.

If it's in a new Engine, then it's not a Remaster. It's a Remake.
With that said, I think if ANOTHER studio was involved and their intent was to truly capture the feeling and experience of the original game(s), I think a remake could be great. They could just release "Combat Evolved" and turn it into Microsoft's CS-GO. Because unreal engine is free to use anyone could make assets for the game and host their own servers and do whatever they want. You could have every previous Halo multiplayer experience contained in one game. The devs of CS-GO even pay the fans who make maps and gametypes and add some of them into matchmaking. Players can pay a season pass and get access to new playlists and maps.
Basically what Halo needs to be is an evolution of all the previous games. Whether you want a Halo CE experience, Halo Reach, or Halo 5, Halo should have the capacity to support all of them, which is how CS-GO multiplayer works.
Nope. 343 could never recreate Halo's physics in their own engine so what makes us think they'll be able to do it in a new engine?
343 has done nothing to expand on Halo's goofy-ness, its casualness or its social-ness. They hate everything OG Halo represents so for them to try to recreate the original game is a joke.

I wouldn't mind an Unreal Engine 5 remastered Halo Combat: Evolved, but as long as it gets released on Xbox too. I hope they aren't just releasing this on Playstation. Also, I think Halo needs to go back to Mature rating. Little blood, glow in the dark grunt blood going through the hallways. If they do this, 343 has to do it right.

I'm all in for a Halo Remaster in UE5. I just wish they would remove the "Combat Evolved" part from the title… always hated that. Just call it Halo, or Halo 1.

Big nah we dont need it and if they are really making it, it should be in their own engine Slipspace. I know slipspace was ass the first couple years but its clearly in a good spot now and would be stupid to just move to unreal especially with Unreal games starting to have common problems between all of them like shader issues or faces looking similar etc. They should just put Mcc on PS and go full send on the next mainline game.
M$ can spend billions to acquire, but can’t seem to make a Halo movie with a $200-500mil budget. We don’t need another CE. We need a competent person who actually loves Halo to save it from M$ and bad decisions. Someone who wants to actually make Halo great again. 343i Halo 4 😂, Halo 5 😒 and Halo Infinite 🫤. I’m skeptical about 343 at the helm for good reason.
