For decades, Quentin Tarantino has crafted some of the most ruthless villains in film history. The evil that dwells within these characters can truly be felt by audiences with every line they speak. But it wasn’t until Django Unchained that Tarantino created a villain so horrible, that it him uncomfortable. Played by Leonardo DiCaprio, Calvin Candie in Django Unchained will forever be one of the most reprehensible characters ever put to film. And DiCaprio’s performance in Django Unchained truly sells the horrific qualities of Calvin Candie.

The horror of being a slave is not that you're horrifically abused every day, it's that you live your whole life knowing that at any moment you can be beaten, abused, or killed and there's nothing you can do about it.
It's similar to the horror of living in a dictatorship. Both derive their dreadful circumstances from an absolute monopoly of violence belonging to an entirely unaccountable, unrestrained force.
Calvin Candy is scary because he does not care about the things he does to slaves. To him it's nothing more than killing someone in a video game is to us. And that apathy implies a lack of restraint, that there's nothing keeping him from killing you if he wants to, and that you're only alive so far because the thought to kill you hasn't crossed his mind.
Slaver owner never saw there slave as people they were propertythat they could do as please.
Horse, Dog and other aninmals lifes were of more thanvaule.
Did a family history test a while back and found out my ancestors were slaves. They were kidnapped from Egypt and taken to a plantations America.
5:33 "sycophant" doesn't have that preceding second 'N.'
Sorry, it's just that I always get taken out of shit when that happens, long enough to write this comment.
For real though, I dig the channel.
When I finally seen it, it didn’t disappoint at all. Brilliant work for Tarantino and team. Definitely a classic ❤💯
