You forgot “Legend” 1985, “Labyrinth” 1986, “Tale of Tales” 2015, “Hansel and Gretel” 2020, “Etoile” 1989, “The Red Shoes” 1948 and “The Brothers Grimm” 2005, also you should’ve said the transition from girlhood to womanhood.

Snow White Tale of Terror is actually the genuine fairytale as The Brothers Grimm told it, not the Disney adaption.

The company of wolves is a cult film. It is so good with the deep meaning of Little Red Riding Hood, I love it so much. But Pan´s Labyrinth? That is really a masterpiece.

I remember Snow White: A Tale of Terror being a respectable adult adaptation. It’s interesting now bc of Disney getting flack from Peter Dinklage. It had one dwarf, no kiss while sleeping, and really is a terrifying story if you aim for a more adult, Brothers Grimm story.

Freeway with Reese Weatherspoon is an adaptation of red riding hood with more of an modern urban take on it. I’m surprised that’s not on the list, it has a really good cast also & yes pans labyrinth has the best visuals and CGI and just a chilling take on fairy tales. I’m so excited for guillermo del toro’s take on Pinocchio!!! 😩🤍👏🏼

I hated "good manners" so much. There is one first hour that is kind of interesting (but it happens to be just the introduction of the actual story). There is a very absurd love story between two women that have nothing in common but being lesbians. That's it. I really did not get how they fell for each other, One is a nanny/assistant/servant and the other a spoiled girl that couldn't do anything by herself. Afterwards the story beggins, not much happens and the ending is dissappointing. I guess the director did not know what to do with it. So at the end, I was not sure which story they wanted to tell.

Fun Fact: Hard Candy was not intended to be a re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood. Hayley's red hoodie was just a happy accident on the costume department's part.

Did you really see Hard Candy as LRRH simply because she has a red sweatshirt? Good manners is just a werewolf movie, not fairytale. Now they do all have a fairytale property to them, however they may not be based on the fairytales you want them to be. Now to put most of these on here and not even mention Heath Ledgers BROTHERS GRIMM?
