Review: Hitman – World of Assassination (w/ Freelancer Mode) – Defunct Games

by admin

Defunct Games reviews Hitman: World of Assassination, available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

Agent 47 is back with a rebranded version of Hitman 3 and a brand-new mode that turns the stealth action series into a roguelike. Hitman: World of Assassination is a collection of all three games in the recent trilogy, complete with all of the stories, extras and more. Best of all, a new Freelancer mode shakes up the action and allows you to replay all 21 incredible locations with randomized targets. With so much content (and some of the coolest kills in video game history), there has never been a better time to get into Hitman.

Its the worst game I've played in a long time, the story mode is confusing, the game is boring, it's awful, I don't get what other people see because they say it's awesome, bit come on it's boring.

Looks like you enjoyed these new Hitman games & rightfully so they are really good. As an OG hitman fan I can only suggest you to play Hitman Blood Money, Contracts, Silent Assassin, Codename 47. Especially Blood Money the best hitman game ever made.

I think the closest I've gotten to playing a stealth action game was the barrel sequences in Wind Waker.

I've never played Hitman but my husband is a huge fan since the 2016 release and also played both sequels. He's put probably hundreds of hours into them and done most all of the achievements and unlocks. Freelance mode was exactly what he needed to get back into the game. It's definitely meant for players who've gone through the whole game I'd say multiple times, not just once.

The other positive he's told me about this release is it makes it so much easier for new players to get into it, like you said. Between the publisher change, sequels, and DLC packs, it could apparently be pretty difficult for a new player to figure out which games to even buy, or very expensive to get everything. With this new consolidated release (minus a few extras apparently) it's so streamlined. It being on Gamepass just makes it even easier. He's hoping this'll finally be the opportunity he's waited for to get some friends into playing it so he can try to make some fun contracts for others to play.

The Colorado militia are anarchists and eco terrorists in the lore. Other than that mistake good video

I'm not too experienced with stealth games, but I did play through both of those Merry Gear Solid fan games. Does that count?

Why the heck isn't this on Switch 🙁

I guess at this point most games have turned into stealth action games.

I don’t know how Square Enix let this team go. One person’s trash is another’s treasure I guess.

That "What point is it reviewing a game that at best is 2 years old?" Coming from the same channel that does the highlights of old EGM and others magazines reviews from years ago, it brought a bit of a laugh from me. 😂🤣 Still, let me tell you my history of Hitman. GOG, can't remember which Hitman game it was, might have been Hitman 3, but one of those games, it was offering it for Free for a small limited time. I totally took advantage of it, but out of curiosity, decided to see what other Hitman games they had. Turns out in the end when it was all said and done, got Hitman 1, 2, 3, Absolution, and Codename 47 for not all that expensive, the rest had a very nice sale price too at the time. So I have those 5 games, but not actually taken the time to try any of them out. Maybe I should change. Certainly before I try any Freelance Mode. 😉😂🤣 That World of Assassination does sound interesting though. As for the question, I'm mostly familiar with Metal Gear Solid, the first game, so with lack of experience, I'll give that as my answer.

Too bad the last 2 missions in H2 are dlc and you have to pay for them. I love the WOA trilogy!!!!
