Review: Speed Limit (PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One & Steam) – Defunct Games

Defunct Games reviews Speed Limit by Gamechuck, available on PlayStation 4 (playable on PlayStation 5) on February 16, Switch on February 18, Xbox One (and Xbox Series S/X) on February 19 and Steam (including a digital art book and soundtrack) on February 17.

Few games released this year will be more intense than Speed Limit, a game where being in the wrong place at the right time turns an unsuspecting passenger into the world’s greatest action hero. This is a punishingly difficult throwback game that finds a way to ratchet up the excitement by tossing the player into new vehicles and impossible scenarios. It could stand to be a bit longer and the final boss leaves us on a sour note, but Speed Limit delivers where it matters and gives us a thrilling pixel-clad action game that you’ll never forget. Just be prepared to die. A lot.

... the end of How to Survive is pretty crazy. They throw every single enemy at you ..

I picked this up day one on the Switch, and I think it auto-patched after my first play session, not entirely sure, but I think it might have solved the crashing issue as I fortunately haven't experienced it...unless you meant crashing into the rockets, bullets, and other things, then I have experienced it hundreds, make that thousands of times!

I've been attempting some speedruns on it after finishing it on Normal first, then Easy. It does get better, I think, the more you play it, with learning patterns, levels, etc. Though, the final boss you talked about still gets me a great deal of the time, and then other times...not? It's been well worth my time put into it, and I have a blast with it each playthrough.

Did you finish it on Normal first? Not talking spoilers, but I enjoyed that setting a lot because of the extra....

Looks interesting. Absolutely love the art style and the way it shifts perspectives.

Hey, maybe the reason why they left you wanting more is because like Fast and Furious, there's going to be about a million sequels. 😉😂 But seriously, looks like a fun game. As for the question, I know I've given this as an answer in the past for previous questions, but going to have to go with Sailor Moon the Arcade Game. Just the final boss alone, if I was playing it in an arcade instead of MAME, I would have spent at least $20 in quarters, but instead pushed 5 A LOT. 😂

Looks interesting. I can feel myself messing up on those isometric parts.

QOTD, easy Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. The kulve taroth siege, safijiiva seige, and hunts against the black dragons Aletreon and Fatalis are all things that start out with an initial phase and get more and more intense.

Fantastic review. I'm grabbing this now for Xbox.

I've been following this channel for a while, didn't think I'd see one of 'my' games on it :)
Thank you for an honest review!
The game crashing is definitely not part of the intended difficulty, we'll look into it right away, and it should be cleared before launch, thanks for catching it!
