I think why ‘A Silent Voice’ works is because of how the characters are written.

It’s hard not to fall in love with Shōko cause, despite her struggles with communication due to being deaf and her low confidence in herself and desire to not seem as a burden, she is a genuinely sweet and compassionate girl who just wants friends.

When i watched “the grave of the fireflies” I couldn’t believe that it is anime,Everything including characters,plot,even soundtrack make me feel like i m watching the real film!The ending is so heartbreaking an just made me cry!🥺💔It shows not only the faith of poor orphans during the war ,but also the violent face of war,how it affects on people’s life…I wish peace to the next generations!!!No war!🙏

Ghost of Fireflies is gut wrenching. I saw on tv it. Oh god crying typing this. You don't see the twist coming and god when it happens it hurts so bad. Because it's built like sweet happy movie.
And when the twist comes oh my god you feel Like Kurtz in apocalypse now describing when the inoculated children.

Sorry if i to late to coment but studio ghibli grave of the fire flies make my mental break for 2-3 days, because if u raised in asian u dont usualy easy to cry because of animated series but this movie bro bring u pain and guilty through ur dna :'(

1. But Grave of the Fireflies is a GOAT, LEGEND, TEAR JERKING HEART WRENCHING, BEAUTIFUL, SAD, UNDERRATED EPIC that is guaranteed to make literally ANYONE cry

Contradict me if you want... but we all know that it is the saddest anime film by how a family of 4 people died one by one, burnt in the purgratory of war... especially the child...😢😢 rest in peace and be happy in heaven Setszuko
