Harry Potter also ended sadly in another way. In the prophecy that Voldemort used to decipher the fact that he would have to kill Harry so that Harry can't kill him when he grows up, it states that neither can live while the other survives. Some people theorize that this means that Harry has to live forever and thus, he has made the biggest sacrifice ever. His deepest desire was to meet his family (revealed in the first book), and now he will never be able to do that. Also, Harry no longer has the resurrection stone, so he has no way to talk to his dead loved ones again.

Actually Voldimort did not control the dementors. Dementors are not controlled at all. They simply thrive on misery and die with happiness. After the war was over and hardships Voldimort caused stop, dementors would die in mass quantities.

08:10, actually, the Galactic Empire is severely weakened after ROTJ. This leads to the Empire collapsing in only 2 years, in 6 BBY. The villains in Episode 7,8 and 9 are the First Order, an organization that wants to overthrow the New Republic, and the Resistance is formed to defend the vulnerable New Republic.

You left out a terrible last part of STar wars return of the Jedi. The Death Star was destroyed while it was being fixed. Since it is a “military base” no military would be working on building it. They would have outsourced and had citizen crews working around the clock. Especially when the emperor got on Vader about being behind. So when it was destroyed, all those people died with it. A good part of military probably had first dibs to get out leaving the building crew. Rebels have some major explaining to do to those families and who is flipping the bill for the casualties?

In the Dark Knight Rises, it's clearly pointed out that the autopilot was broken when the Bat is first introduced in the movie. But at the end, it's revealed that the autopilot was mysteriously fixed. This revelation leads to the scene in the French restaurant where Alfred sees Bruce and Selena, proving that Bruce switched on the autopilot and escaped before the craft exploded. The restaurant scene is reference to an earlier scene in the movie where Alfred describes seeing Bruce in a restaurant in Paris, exactly as it happens later in the film. With Harry Potter, the dementors were the guards of the wizard prison Azkaban, and were controlled by the Ministerry of Magic. They were manipulated to attack wizards, specifically Harry, outside of Azkaban by followers of Voldemort within the Ministry. After the battle of Hogwarts, in which Voldemort was defeated once and for all, Kingsley Shackelbolt(an ally of Harry and memeber of the Order of the Phoenix) was appointed the new Minster of Magic and he worked with the rebuilt Ministry to restore the dementors to their original state as Azkaban security guards.
